Washington State (15-8) at Stanford (10-13)

GAME NOTES: The Stanford Cardinal finally return back home, as they host the Washington State Cougars tonight in a Pac-10 matchup at Maples Pavilion.

The Cardinal recently capped off an unsuccessful four-game road trip, as it was downed, 54-49, at USC on Saturday. It was the fourth loss in a row for Stanford, which is now 0-10 on the road this season. The Cardinal however, have been a completely different team at home, where they have gone 9-2, including 4-0 versus league foes.

As for the Cougars, they finally returned to the win column with a 78-60 besting of Arizona on Saturday. The triumph ended a three-game slide and pushed WSU to 15-8 overall and 5-6 in conference play.

WSU defeated Stanford, 77-73, earlier this season, but the Cardinal still hold a 67-57 advantage in the all-time series.

The Cougars shot an efficient 51.0 percent from the floor and went 23-of-28 at the foul line, as they defeated Arizona over the weekend. WSU also won the battle on the boards, 36-24, including a 13-9 edge on the offensive glass. DeAngelo Casto led the way with a double-double of 19 points and 10 boards, while Klay Thompson had 14 points and four helpers. Thompson is one of the premier scorers in the Pac-10 with an average of 21.2 ppg and he also leads WSU with 35 steals. Reggie Moore helps form a solid one-two punch with Thompson, as he checks in with 14.1 ppg and a team-high 4.2 apg.

The Cardinal made only 30.4 percent of their attempts from the floor in being held to just 49 points in a loss at USC this past weekend. Landry Fields was the lone bright spot for Stanford, recording a double-double with 27 points and 11 boards. It was yet another strong effort from Fields, who leads the conference in scoring at 23.0 ppg. Fields is second in the Pac-10 in rebounding (8.8 rpg) as well, and he also leads Stanford with 43 steals. Jeremy Green is another solid option for the Cardinal, as he nets 17.3 ppg on the strength of 40.7 percent shooting from long range.

Stanford has fared well at home and behind another big game from Fields, expect the Cardinal to emerge with the victory tonight.
