Milwaukee (13-11) at Wright State (15-9)

GAME NOTES: The Wright State Raiders welcome the Milwaukee Panthers to the Nutter Center in Dayton for this evening's Horizon League bout.

Losses in back-to-back outings have dropped Milwaukee to 13-11 overall and 5-7 in conference. The Panthers are coming off a 61-54 setback at rival Green Bay on Saturday, and they are now just 4-6 in true road affairs.

As for Wright State, it managed to string together four consecutive wins to build up some momentum and confidence before last Saturday's much-anticipated showdown with nationally-ranked Butler. Unfortunately for the Raiders, they fell victim to the mighty Bulldogs for the second time this season, this time by a 74-62 final. Wright State is still a solid 15-9 overall, including 8-5 in HL play.

Milwaukee owns a 22-18 series lead over Wright State thanks to wins in 14 of the last 19 meetings between the two.

Ricky Franklin is the leading scorer for Milwaukee with 15.0 ppg, and he is dishing out 3.9 apg as well. There is only one other double-digit scorer in the fold, as James Eayrs checks in with 11.9 ppg on 39.3 percent shooting from the floor. The Panthers are generating 69.5 ppg while allowing 68.1 ppg to opponents. Against Green Bay on Saturday, Anthony Hill registered 13 points and nine rebounds, while Ja'Rob McCallum also contributed 13 points. Franklin finished with 11 points for the Panthers, who committed 15 turnovers, more than double the amount of their assists total. Clearly, a 15-4 deficit in points from the foul line hurt the cause and overshadowed a solid defensive effort.

Wright State is averaging 68.6 ppg this season while holding opponents to just 60.6 ppg on 43 percent field goal efficiency. The Raiders are grabbing the exact same number of rebounds per game as their foes (30.5 rpg), but they have committed 103 fewer turnovers, an obvious key to success. Vaughn Duggins paces Wright State with 14.7 ppg, while Todd Brown adds 12.8 ppg. The Raiders were outscored 16-2 during one stretch of last Saturday's meeting with Butler, the most obvious contributing factor in the loss. Duggins scored 18 points in that contest, and N'Gai Evans pitched in 14. As for Brown, he finished with 11 points. Poor defense killed the Raiders, as they permitted the Bulldogs to shoot an eye-popping 67.5 percent from the field.

The home crowd will cheer the Raiders to victory tonight. They will play much better defense than they did against Butler.
