Montana State (12-11) at Eastern Washington (6-18)

GAME NOTES: Eastern Washington takes the floor this evening in desperate need of a victory, as the Eagles play host to the Montana State Bobcats in a Big Sky Conference bout at Reese Court.

The last time the Bobcats took the floor the team fell to 7-5 in league play with a 75-71 setback to Weber State. It was the third loss in the last four games for Montana State, which is just 4-8 on the road this season.

As for the Eagles, they have suffered through a seven-game losing skid. The last time the team was on the floor the Eagles were defeated by Sacramento State, 74-67. The loss dropped EWU to a mere 2-8 in conference action.

Earlier this season the Eagles collected a 75-73 victory over Montana State. Despite the loss though, the Bobcats own a 39-26 edge in the all-time series.

The Bobcats have been inconsistent at the offensive end of the floor, as the team is netting 67.8 ppg. Bobby Howard is leading the team on the season with 13.6 ppg, and is also grabbing 5.4 rpg. Marquis Navarre is contributing 11.4 ppg, and so is Erik Rush, who has also dished out a team-best 61 assists. The last time Montana State was in action, the team suffered a tough loss to Weber State. The Bobcats shot 42.9 percent from the floor, made 8-of-21 shots from long range and 15-of-24 attempts from the foul line. Howard led the way in the setback with 25 points and nine rebounds, while Navarre and Rush tallied 16 and 13 points, respectively.

The Eagles have relied heavily on the tandem of Glen Dean and Mark Dunn this season. Dean is netting 12.0 ppg and has dished out 4.3 apg, while Dunn is posting 11.2 ppg for a Eastern Washington team the is posting 69.2 ppg on the season. The last time the Eagles were in action the team suffered a loss to Sacramento State. Eastern Washington shot just 38.7 percent from the field and finished 6-of-21 from behind the arc. Jeffrey Forbes led the way with 18 points in the contest, while Dean and Dunn tallied 15 and 11 points, respectively. Dean also dished out five assists, while Dunn grabbed eight rebounds.

The Eagles are stuck in a major funk and even though the team is home, look for the Bobcats to claw out a victory this evening.
