GAME NOTES: Cal State Fullerton will try to remain in the win column when the Titans take on the Cal State Northridge Matadors this evening in a Big West Conference battle at the Matadome.

The Titans pushed their league mark to 6-5 on the season with a 72-61 decision over UC Irvine in their last matchup. It was the fourth win in the last five games for CS-Fullerton, which is a mere 5-7 on the road this season.

The Last time Northridge was on the court the team was defeated by CS Bakersfield, 59-57. It was the fifth loss in the last seven games for the Matadors, who are just 4-6 in league play.

The Titans own a 33-26 edge over Northridge in the all-time series, but earlier this season the Matadors grabbed a 78-72 victory over Fullerton earlier this year.

The Titans have relied on their ability, offensively, as the team is producing 73.0 ppg. Aaron Thompson is leading the way with 12.0 ppg, to go along with 5.4 rpg. Jer'Vaughn Johnson, who is leading the team with 6.0 rpg, also is posting 10.7 ppg. The Titans put forth a solid effort in their recent matchup against UC Irvine, as Fullerton shot 44.6 percent from the floor, en route to the victory. Gerard Anderson led the way in the win with a double- double of 19 points and 10 rebounds. Thompson added 15 points, while Orane Chin tallied a double-double of 14 points and 10 boards.

The Matadors only have two reliable scoring sources on the floor, and they are Kenny Daniels and Lenny Daniel. Daniels is posting 14.2 ppg, while Daniel is netting 10.8 ppg. The last time the Matadors were on the floor the team suffered a heartbreaking, 59-57 setback to CS Bakersfield. The Matadors shot 41.2 percent from the floor, but finished just 1-of-13 from long range. Daniels led the way in the setback with 24 points, while Willie Galick and Raymond Cody tallied 12 and 11 points, respectively.

The Matadors got the better of Fullerton earlier this season, but look for the Titans to get some revenge this evening on the road.
