George Mason (16-9) at Old Dominion (19-7)

GAME NOTES: The Moarchs will try to remain unbeaten at home when Old Dominion hosts the George Mason Patriots in a pivotal Colonial Athletic Association matchup at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

The last time the Patriots were in action the team snapped a two-game losing skid with an 82-77 overtime win over VCU. With the win over the Rams, George Mason pushed its league mark to 11-3 on the season.

Old Dominion also pushed its league mark to 11-3 on the year with a 66-44 victory over James Madison. It was the 10th win in the last 12 games for ODU, which has won 20 straight contests at home, including all 12 of its matchups this season as the Convocation Center.

The Monarchs own a 32-16 edge over George Mason in the all-time series, but the Patriots grabbed a 71-55 decision over Old Dominion back in January.

The last time the Patriots were on the floor the team scored 82 points in an overtime victory over VCU. George Mason shot 46.7 percent from the floor, and also connected on 23-of-34 attempts from the foul line. Cam long led the way in the win with 19 points and five assists, while Mike Morrison added a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Louis Birdsong and Ryan Pearson contributed 13 and 12 points, respectively, in the win. Long has been the best player on the floor for George Mason, as the guard is netting 13.5 ppg, to go along with a team-high 80 assists. Pearson is the only other player averaging double figures, and comes into this game with 12.1 ppg.

Old Dominion's success this season can be attributed to the team's play defensively, as the Monarchs are holding opponents to just 55.2 ppg and a 39.1 percent shooting effort. ODU's tenacious play at the defensive end of the floor continued in the team's recent win over James Madison, as the Monarchs held the Dukes to a mere 44 points on a 32.7 percent shooting effort. At the other end of the floor the team was paced by Lee, who finished the game with 18 points. Darius James added 12 points, while Ben Finney tallied 11 points. On the season the only player netting double figures is Lee, who is averaging 13.9 ppg, to go along with 5.3 rpg. As a whole however, Old Dominion is producing a lackluster 65.9 ppg.

This should be a thrilling matchup that will likely come down to the final minutes. However, the Monarchs have been outstanding at home and should continue to perform at a high level on their home floor.
