Maryland (16-6) at (8) Duke (20-4)

GAME NOTES: ACC rivals will collide at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham today, as the Maryland Terrapins come calling on the eighth-ranked Duke Blue Devils.

Maryland has won its last two games to move to 16-6 overall and 6-2 in conference. The Terps were most recently in action last Sunday when they crushed North Carolina in a 92-71 final. They were supposed to play Virginia on Wednesday, but that game was postponed due to weather and will be played on Monday, February 15th.

As for Duke, it has won its last three outings to hit the 20-win plateau. The Blue Devils, who are 20-4 overall and a league-leading 8-2 in the ACC, are fresh off Wednesday's 64-54 road victory over the hated Tar Heels. They now return home where they are a perfect 13-0 this season.

Duke owns a 106-60 series advantage over Maryland, which includes five straight wins over the Terps.

Greivis Vasquez is one of the most dynamic guards in all of college basketball. The Maryland standout is scoring 18.1 ppg, and he has also dished out 138 assists to complement solid figures in the rebounding and steals departments. Landon Milbourne is netting 14.5 ppg for the Terps, who are getting 11.5 ppg from Sean Mosley. Eric Hayes rounds out a foursome of double- digit scorers with 11.1 ppg. Maryland is generating 80.2 ppg this season, and the team is allowing 65.0 ppg on 37.1 percent shooting from the field. Vasquez was sensational in the romp over UNC last time out, as he posted 26 points and 11 assists. Hayes shot 5-of-6 from the floor and finished with 16 points, while Milbourne contributed 15 points. The Terps connected on 12-of-23 three- pointers, perhaps the most obvious key to the victory.

As mentioned, Duke's most recent outing also came against North Carolina, and a late surge enabled the club to come out victorious. Jon Scheyer continued his push for ACC Player of the Year by scoring 24 points on the strength of a 5-of-9 effort from three-point range. Kyle Singler added 19 points and nine rebounds for the Blue Devils, who got 10 points from Nolan Smith. Duke connected on just 31.9 percent of its field goal attempts, but the team nailed 9-of-18 shots from behind the arc and finished with a mere eight turnovers. Scheyer is averaging 19.1 ppg this season on the strength of his 40.4 percent three-point efficiency, and he is handing out 5.5 apg as well. Smith provides 17.7 ppg, and Singler rounds out one of the nation's truly elite trios with 16.7 ppg. Duke is scoring 80.7 ppg while allowing 62.6 ppg.

Expect Duke to take care of business at home tonight, although Maryland is sure to put up a fight.
