Missouri (18-6) at (24) Baylor (18-5)

GAME NOTES: In a rematch of last year's Big 12 Tournament title game, the 24th-ranked Baylor Bears entertain the Missouri Tigers today at the Ferrell Center.

The Bears are looking for some payback today, as they were defeated by Missouri, 73-60, in the 2009 Big 12 Tournament championship game. Baylor had a magical ride to the finals as the ninth-seed, but the Tigers put an end to that run and captured their first-ever Big 12 Tournament title. The Tigers actually won both meetings last season to improve to 12-9 all-time against Baylor.

To the present, Baylor has won three of its last four outings and that includes a 55-53 nipping of Nebraska on Wednesday. The Bears are now 18-5 overall and they trail three teams for second place at 5-4 within the conference.

One of those three clubs sitting slightly ahead of the Bears is Missouri, which is 6-3 in conference play. The Tigers most recently defeated Iowa State, 65-56, on Wednesday for their second win in a row.

The Tigers turned in a stingy defensive performance on Wednesday, holding Iowa State to just 56 points and a mere 32.8 percent shooting effort from the field in a nine-point triumph. Offensively, J.T. Tiller led the way with 17 points and three assists, while Justin Safford posted 13 points and nine boards. Kim English chipped in with nine points, as he remains the team's leading scorer with an average of 14.8 ppg. Marcus Denmon follows with 11.1 ppg and he is a 44.1 percent three-point shooter, while Laurence Bowers adds 10.8 ppg and a team-high 6.0 rpg to the mix.

Ekpe Udoh's bucket with 25 seconds left pushed Baylor ahead and Quincy Acy came up with a pair of clutch defensive plays to help secure a 55-53 win over Nebraska on Wednesday. Udoh finished the night with an all-around effort of eight points, nine boards and six blocks, while LaceDarius led the charge with 19 points and seven rebounds. Dunn is one of the most dangerous players in the Big 12 and he averages 18.7 ppg on the strength of 41.0 percent shooting from three-point range. Tweety Carter follows with 16.2 ppg and he is responsible for running the offense, dishing out a team-high 6.1 apg. Udoh is yet another dangerous weapon for the Bears and he turns in 13.9 ppg, to go with team-highs of 10.3 rpg and 4.2 bpg.

The Bears have been especially tough at home this season and they should be able to put up a few more points then earlier in the week en route to the victory.
