(19) Northern Iowa (22-2) at Bradley (12-12)

GAME NOTES: The 19th-ranked Northern Iowa Panthers can wrap up the outright Missouri Valley Conference title today, as they take on the Bradley Braves at Carver Arena.

Winners of six straight, UNI defeated Drake 57-48 on Wednesday to clinch at least a share of its second straight MVC regular-season crown. At a healthy 13-1 within the conference, the Panthers can secure the outright title and top seed in the upcoming MVC Tournament with a win today. UNI has done very little of anything else but win this season, capturing 22 victories against only two defeats.

The Braves meanwhile, are stuck in mediocrity, sporting even records of 12-12 overall and 7-7 within the conference. Most recently, Bradley was edged, 62-61, by Illinois State on Tuesday, as it had its two-game win streak snapped.

Bradley leads the all-time series with UNI, 25-16, but the Panthers have won the last four matchups between the schools, including a narrow 52-50 decision earlier this season.

The Panthers connected on 43.1 percent of their attempts from the floor and 7- of-18 from long range, as they downed Drake earlier in the week. UNI also dominated the boards, 34-21, including a 12-4 advantage on the offensive glass. Adam Koch led the way with 12 points and eight rebounds, while Ali Farokhmanesh and Johnny Moran chipped in with 10 points apiece. For the season, Koch leads the team in scoring at 12.9 ppg and he is also collecting 4.6 rpg. Jordan Eglseder nips at his heels with 12.2 ppg and he also brings in a team-best 7.7 rpg, while Kwadzo Ahelegbe contributes 11.0 ppg.

The Braves led for nearly the entire game until Jackie Carmichael's putback pushed ISU ahead with 52.9 seconds left, and Bradley was unable to respond in a 62-61 setback on Tuesday. Bradley, which led by as many as 14 and trailed by only two points at any time, shot just 35.7 percent from the floor over the final 20 minutes of play. Sam Maniscalco scored 17 points to guide the team in the loss, while Taylor Brown had 13 points and nine boards. Andrew Warren chipped in with nine points and he continues to pace the Braves in scoring at 14.3 ppg for the season. Brown adds 13.8 ppg and a team-best 6.8 rpg for the Braves. Maniscalco chips in with 12.5 ppg.

UNI has the outright league title within reach today and should be able to get the job done behind its stingy defense.
