Oregon State (10-13) at Arizona (13-11)

GAME NOTES: The Arizona Wildcats resume their three-game homestand tonight, as they welcome the Oregon State Beavers to the McKale Center for a Pac-10 affair.

The Wildcats got their homestand underway Thursday night and they tallied a 70-57 victory over Oregon. The triumph put an end to a short two-game slide and pushed the team to 13-11 overall. It was also the fourth straight home win for Arizona, which remained a game back of California for first place in the Pac-10 at 7-5.

On the flip side, the Beavers couldn't find their offense on Thursday, as they were downed, 56-46, at Arizona State. It marked the fifth time this season the team has been held under 50 points, and OSU is now just 4-7 in conference play.

As far as the all-time series is concerned, Arizona holds a commanding 51-18 advantage over OSU and has won the last 27 meetings in Tucson.

The Beavers shot horrific 24.6 percent from the field, including a poor 5- of-20 showing from behind the arc, as they were handled by ASU on Thursday. Calvin Haynes was the lone player to reach double figures for OSU, finishing with 15 points and five rebounds. A 39.8 percent three-point shooter, Haynes currently leads the Beavers in scoring with an average of 13.0 ppg. Seth Tarver follows with 10.4 ppg for OSU, which is managing only 59.4 ppg as a team.

The Wildcats had their way down low, controlling the boards, 40-33, and outscoring Oregon in the paint, 44-22, in a 70-57 victory on Thursday. Arizona also hit on 46.7 percent of its attempts from the floor compared to just a 38.6 percent shooting effort by the Ducks. Derrick Williams led the way with 20 points and six boards, while Nic Wise chipped in with 10 points. For the season, Williams tops the roster in scoring (15.5 ppg) as well as rebounding (7.0 rpg), meanwhile, Wise checks in with 15.3 ppg and a team-high 3.5 apg. Kyle Fogg tacks on 10.7 ppg, and Jamelle Horne adds 10.0 ppg and 5.6 rpg.

Arizona has been tough on Pac-10 foes at home and the Wildcats should be able to continue that trend tonight against an OSU club that has far less weapons at its disposal.
