GAME NOTES: The Texas A&M Aggies invade United Spirit Arena in Lubbock for a Big 12 Conference clash with the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

While Texas A&M is a perfect 13-0 at home this season, the team is just 2-4 in true road games heading into this affair. The Aggies are riding a three-game overall win streak, and the most recent triumph came over Baylor last weekend by a 78-71 final. A&M is 17-6 overall, and a solid 6-3 in conference.

As for Texas Tech, it has a couple of obvious reasons to be confident right now. First, the team has won 13 of the 14 home games it has played this season. Secondly, the Red Raiders have won their last two outings, including Tuesday's 72-71 road triumph over Oklahoma. They are now 16-7 overall and can even their Big 12 record at 5-5 with a win over the Aggies.

Texas A&M beat Texas Tech, 85-70, two weeks ago, but the Red Raiders still own a 64-57 advantage in the all-time series.

In the recent bout with Baylor, Texas A&M earned a 28-14 advantage in points from the foul line and a 36-26 rebounding edge, the two most obvious contributing factors in the win. Four players reached double figures in scoring for the Aggies, and Bryan Davis led the way with 22 points and eight rebounds. Donald Sloan checked in with 20 points, and David Loubeau had 13 points. Rounding out the group was B.J. Holmes with 12 points. The Aggies are generating 73.7 ppg this season while limiting their opponents to 65.7 ppg on 41.2 percent field goal efficiency. Sloan is netting 18.5 ppg to pace the squad.

Mike Singletary leads Texas Tech in scoring with 15.5 ppg, and he is tops on the boards as well with 6.7 rpg. John Roberson provides 15.1 ppg on the strength of his 42.2 percent shooting from three-point range, and he has dished out 127 assists to go along with 31 steals. As for David Tairu, the third and final double-digit scorer in the fold, he checks in with 10.6 ppg. The Red Raiders are generating 77.7 ppg while allowing 74.5 ppg to opponents. Against Oklahoma on Tuesday, Roberson poured in 22 points on the strength of a 3-of-4 effort from three-point range and 7-of-7 from the foul line. Darko Cohadarevic added 12 points, and Singletary finished with 10.

Texas Tech will earn a split in the season series with Texas A&M by disposing of the Aggies today. Solid team defense and balanced scoring will be the keys for the Red Raiders.
