Marist (1-24) at Niagara (14-13)

GAME NOTES: The Marist Red Foxes again take aim at just their second win of the season today as they face off against the Niagara Purple Eagles in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at the Gallagher Center.

Marist has been abysmal all season with just a single win against Manhattan and since then the squad has dropped 13 in a row. The most recent outing for the program took place two nights ago when the Red Foxes were dealt a 71-56 loss by Canisius on the road.

As for the Purple Eagles, they pulled off the unthinkable on Friday night when they handed Siena its first conference loss of the season and snapped the nation's longest overall win streak with an 87-74 victory. It was the third win in the last four games for Niagara, which is now a game under .500 in the MAAC.

Niagara has won three straight in the series with the Red Foxes and now own a 17-12 advantage overall.

The Red Foxes shot an even 50 percent from the field in the second half of Friday's game, but that was only after they a mere seven field goals on 24 attempts in the first half of the eventual loss. Candon Rusin posted a team- best 17 points, Korey Bauer added 14 and Devin Price 12 points as the only double-digit scorers for the group. The team has been beaten and bruised everywhere it has played this season, but on the road it has been especially difficult as the squad comes up with a meager 54.5 ppg. In those 13 decisions, Marist doesn't have a single double-digit scorer to speak of right now as it shoots a collective 37.5 percent from the field. The same is true for the season overall with Rusin drawing closest with his 9.8 ppg based on his 41.7 percent shooting behind the three-point line.

Tyrone Lewis scored a team-best 24 points, shooting 4-of-7 behind the three- point line, as he helped the Purple Eagles to the upset win against Siena at home. Kashief Edwards posted 20 points and Bilal Benn registered a double- double with 15 points and a team-best 11 rebounds as the squad hit an impressive 54.1 percent from the floor. Lewis, the leading scorer for the program in the last few games, paces the team overall in 2009-10 with his 16.7 ppg, even though he is shooting just 37.5 percent from the field. Benn accounts for 13.5 ppg and a team-best 9.8 rpg, but he too is having issues shooting the ball at a mere 38.5 percent clip and an even worse 28.6 percent behind the three-point line.

Little will change for the Red Foxes today, the team soon to add yet another loss to their tally as they limp through the rest of the season.
