U-C-L-A (11-12) at U-S-C (14-9)

GAME NOTES: Bitter rivals clash at the Galen Center tonight, as the USC Trojans host the UCLA Bruins in a Pac-10 battle.

The Trojans enter the contest hoping to cap off a perfect three-game homestand and win their 11th game at the Galen Center. USC has had plenty of time to gear up for tonight's bout, as it last took the floor in a 54-49 win over Stanford on February 6th. The win improved the Trojans to 14-9 overall and kept them in the Pac-10 race at 6-5.

The Bruins are also 6-5 within the conference, so this is an important game for both squads. UCLA has been out of action for a while as well, last dropping a 72-58 decision to California on February 6th. The defeat ended a short two-game win streak, as the Bruins fell to 11-12 overall.

UCLA leads the all-time series with USC, 128-102, but the Trojans emerged with a 67-46 victory in the first encounter of the season.

On the season, the Bruins have four active players scoring in double figures and Michael Roll leads the way with 13.6 ppg as well as 3.7 apg. Malcolm Lee ranks second with each 12.3 ppg and 3.5 apg, while Nikola Dragovic contributes 11.5 ppg and 4.8 rpg. Reeves Nelson rounds out the list with 11.2 ppg. In the team's last outing, Roll poured in 22 points and dished out four helpers, but it wasn't enough for UCLA in a 72-58 loss to Cal. The Bruins went only 12- of-20 at the foul line and were also outrebounded 31-23.

The Trojans have thrived at the defensive end of the court this season, as they are holding opponents to a mere 56.0 ppg and a lackluster 37.5 percent shooting from the field. Offensively, the team is paced by Dwight Lewis, who averages 13.3 ppg. Nikola Vucevic nearly turns in a double-double for USC with 11.8 ppg and a team-high 9.8 rpg, while Marcus Johnson tacks on 10.0 ppg and 4.7 rpg. In the club's most recent contest, Vucevic registered a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds to power USC in a 54-49 win over Stanford. USC was once again stout on defense, limiting Stanford to a miserable 30.4 percent shooting performance from the floor.

With their stingy defense and timely scoring, expect the Trojans to come out on top in the end tonight.
