UL-Monroe (11-14) at Arkansas State (14-10)

GAME NOTES: The Red Wolves will try to continue their strong play in league action when Arkansas State hosts the UL-Monroe Warhawks in a Sun Belt Conference tilt at the Convocation Center.

The Warhawks pushed their league mark to 6-8 on the year with a 67-64 decision over Arkansas-Little Rock. It was the second straight win for ULM, which is a mere 3-10 on the road this season.

The Red Wolves, who led the West Division with a 9-4 ledger, are coming off a 79-68 loss to Western Kentucky. It was the second loss in the last three games for Arkansas State, which is 8-3 at home this season.

Arkansas State currently holds a 25-21 edge over UL-Monroe in the all-time series, and has won seven consecutive games against the Warhawks at home.

The Warhawks were not at their best in their last matchup, but the team still grabbed a three-point victory over Arkansas-Little Rock. ULM shot just 38.6 percent from the floor, but finished 19-of-22 from the foul line to secure the win. Rudy Turner led the way in the win with 20 points and also grabbed eight boards, while Dynile Forbes tallied 16 points. Lawrence Gilbert contributed 10 points and nine rebounds for the Warhawks. Forbes is currently leading the team with 12.2 ppg, while Turner is contributing 9.4 ppg and a team-best 5.6 rpg. However, as a whole the team is netting just 68.0 ppg.

The Red Wolves have relied mainly on two players, Brandon Reed and Martavius Adams. Reed is leading the team with 15.0 ppg, while Adams is posting 11.0 ppg and a team-best 7.0 rpg. The team as a whole is producing a mediocre 70.3 ppg, behind a 44.9 percent shooting effort. The last time the Red Wolves were on the floor the team scored just 68 points in a loss to Western Kentucky. Arkansas State shot 42.2 percent from the field, but finished just 5-of-20 from behind the arc. Reed led the way with 20 points in the matchup, while Daniel Bryant tallied 15 points off the bench.

The Red Wolves struggled in their last matchup, but considering how poorly the Warhawks have played on the road, look for Arkansas State to bounce back into the win column.
