Houston (13-11) at U-C-F (12-12)

GAME NOTES: The Houston Cougars will try to make it three wins in a row tonight, as they take on the UCF Knights in a Conference USA bout in Orlando.

The Cougars' most recent victory came on Saturday, a 66-60 besting of SMU. It marked the team's ninth straight win over SMU dating back to 2000. Winners of two straight, Houston is now 13-11 overall and an even 5-5 in conference play.

UCF is also out to continue its recent success, having won two of three outings following a three-game slide. On Saturday, the Knights defeated Tulane, 62-54, to improve to a level 12-12 overall and 4-6 within the conference.

In terms of the all-time series, Houston owns a 7-3 lead over UCF, although the Knights grabbed 78-71 victory in the first meeting of the season.

The Cougars made eight free throws in the final minute, as they held off SMU for a 66-60 win over the weekend. Houston finished the game an efficient 18- of-20 at the foul line and it also did a terrific job of protecting the ball, committing a mere two turnovers. Kelvin Lewis went 7-of-16 from long range on his way to a season-high 29 points, while Aubrey Coleman posted 16 points and eight boards. The nation's top scorer, Coleman is averaging a healthy 25.6 ppg on the campaign, to go with other team-highs of 7.5 rpg and 73 steals. Lewis, a 41.1 percent three-point shooter, is another weapon for Houston, dropping in 16.0 ppg.

The Knights forced 19 turnovers and scored 20 points off those mishaps in a 62-54 victory over Tulane on Saturday. UCF also shot 46.8 percent from the floor, including a 6-of-17 effort from downtown. A.J. Rompza tallied 17 points and four assists to lead the way, while Isaac Sosa chipped in with 13 points. A.J. Tyler was limited to just four points, but he is still the lone player on the team averaging in double figures, with 10.2 ppg. Sosa is close to a double-digit average with 9.9 ppg, while Rompza logs 9.5 ppg and a team-high 4.0 apg.

UCF won the first meeting of the season and a season sweep is likely considering the Knights have the luxury of hosting the Cougars this time around.
