Rutgers (13-12) at DePaul (8-16)

GAME NOTES: Fresh off their biggest win of the season, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights now challenge the DePaul Blue Demons in a Big East tilt at Allstate Arena.

The Knights have been playing well of late and Sunday the team knocked off then seventh-ranked Georgetown, 71-68. It was the second-highest ranked opponent ever defeated by Rutgers, trailing only a 74-64 upset of No. 6 West Virginia back on February 27, 1982. The Knights have now won two straight and four of their past five outings following a nine-losing skid.

As for DePaul, it continues to struggle and the team finished a three-game road trip on Sunday with a 79-71 setback at Seton Hall. The loss was the sixth in a row, as the Blue Demons dropped to 1-11 in Big East play.

This is just the fifth all-time meeting between Rutgers and DePaul on the hardwood, with the series knotted at 2-2.

The Knights knocked down 44.8 percent of their field goals and came up with eight steals to stun Georgetown, 71-68, this past weekend. Jonathan Mitchell headed the charge with a career-high 24 points and seven boards, while Dane Miller notched a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Hamady Ndiaye tacked on 11 points and seven boards, and Mike Rosario finished with 10 points despite going just 3-of-16 from the floor. Although it wasn't his best performance, Rosario still found a way to help out and he remains the team's leading scorer at 16.4 ppg for the season. Mitchell follows with 12.6 ppg and he has stepped up in Big East play, averaging a team-high 15.0 ppg.

The Blue Demons went just 6-of-21 from beyond the arc and only 7-of-12 at the foul line, suffering a 79-71 loss at Seton Hall on Sunday. Will Walker paced DePaul in the setback with 19 points and six boards, while Tony Freeland had 18 points and eight boards. Mac Koshwal also got into the mix with an all- around effort of 11 points, 10 boards and five assists. For the season, Walker leads the club in scoring at 16.6 ppg and he also has a team-high 36 steals to his credit. Koshwal helps form a solid inside-out tandem, as he comes in with 13.5 ppg and a team-high 9.8 rpg.

Rutgers is playing with a lot of confidence right now and should be able to find a way to defeat a slumping DePaul club tonight.
