Cleveland State (13-14) at Milwaukee (15-12)

GAME NOTES: Horizon League foes will collide in Milwaukee this evening, as the hometown Panthers welcome the Cleveland State Vikings to U.S. Cellular Arena.

Losses in back-to-back games have dropped Cleveland State to 13-14 overall and 9-6 in league action. On Tuesday, the team failed to be competitive in a 74-57 setback to Green Bay on the road. The Vikings are now 3-8 in true road games, unimpressive for sure.

Milwaukee has managed back-to-back wins to improve to 15-12 overall and 7-8 in the league. The Panthers defeated Youngstown State by a 64-62 final on Monday and they carry an 8-3 home record into this evening's affair.

Last month, Cleveland State edged Milwaukee by a 73-72 final, but the Panthers still own an 18-14 series advantage over the Vikings.

Norris Cole continues to lead Cleveland State in scoring, as he is posting 16.2 ppg to go along with 110 assists and 48 steals. Jeremy Montgomery provides 12.9 ppg for the Vikings, who are getting 11.3 ppg from Trevon Harmon. Cleveland State is posting 68.9 ppg while allowing 68.4 ppg to opponents. Montgomery and Aaron Pogue both scored 12 points for the Vikings against Green Bay, and Harmon added 10 points. Cole was held in check in Tuesday's affair, as he made good on just 3-of-15 field goal attempts en route to nine points. After shooting 50 percent from the floor in the first half, CSU put forth a 33.3 percent effort over the final 20 minutes. The Vikings finished the game with six assists against 15 turnovers.

Milwaukee is generating 69.1 ppg this season, marginally better than the 67.6 ppg the team is allowing. The Panthers are getting 14.9 ppg from Franklin, who is dishing out 3.9 apg. James Eayrs adds 12.7 ppg as the only other double- digit scorer in the fold, and he was the best player on the court for Milwaukee in the victory over Youngstown State earlier this week. The talented forward scored 22 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the floor, including 2-of-3 from three-point range. Franklin pitched in 19 points, and the Panthers won despite their 30.9 percent field goal efficiency. Clearly, a 46-36 rebounding advantage and a 25-12 edge in points from the foul line helped the cause.

Expect a hard-fought battle this evening and give a narrow edge to Milwaukee. The Panthers will earn a season split with the Vikings.
