Stanford (11-14) at Oregon (12-12)

GAME NOTES: The Stanford Cardinal will try grab their first road win of the campaign tonight, as they square off against the Oregon Ducks in Pac-10 action at McArthur Court.

The Cardinal are coming off their first league home loss of the season, falling 78-61 to Washington on Saturday. It marked the fifth defeat in the past six games for Stanford, which is now just 11-15 overall and 5-8 within the conference. To make matters worse, the Cardinal return to the road, where they have gone winless at 0-10.

The Ducks meanwhile, have had their own share of struggles and recently capped a winless three-game road trip with a 61-51 setback at Arizona State on Saturday. That means the team has now fallen in eight of its last 10 outings following a six-game winning streak. The Ducks are now a level 12-12 overall, but just 4-8 in the Pac-10.

As far as the all-time series is concerned, Stanford holds an 87-44 advantage over Oregon and that includes an 84-69 victory in the first meeting of the season.

The Cardinal went a dismal 11-of-24 at the foul line compared to 20-of-26 effort by Washington in a 78-61 defeat over the weekend. Stanford didn't do much better from long range, going only 4-of-18, and it forced just five turnovers as well. Landry Fields and Jeremy Green each scored 17 points in the setback, while Jack Trotter had 10 points and nine boards. For the season, Fields is averaging a healthy 22.5 ppg to pace Stanford and he also leads the team with 8.7 rpg and 44 steals. Green forms a solid one-two punch with Fields, as he nets 17.6 ppg behind 40.0 percent shooting from three-point distance.

The Ducks shot a modest 40.4 percent from the floor and lost the battle on the boards, 33-23, in a 61-51 loss at Arizona State this past weekend. Malcolm Armstead guided the team in defeat with 16 points and six helpers, while Matthew Humphrey posted 11 points and five boards. Tajuan Porter however, continued to struggle, as he had just five points on 1-of-11 field goals. He is now tied with Armstead for the team-lead in scoring at 11.3 ppg, with Armstead also topping the roster with 4.3 apg and 50 steals.

Both teams are struggling, so go with the Ducks, as they are at home against a Stanford club that has been just miserable on the road this season.
