U-S-C (15-9) at Washington (17-8)

GAME NOTES: The Washington Huskies will try to stretch their home winning streak to seven games tonight, as they host the USC Trojans in a Pac-10 tilt at Bank of America Arena.

The Huskies have won 16 of 17 home games this season and six in a row since losing to Oregon back on January 2nd. Most recently, Washington grabbed its first road victory of the campaign with a 78-61 besting of Stanford on Saturday. It was the fifth win in six games for the Huskies, who are now 17-8 overall and 7-6 within the conference.

As for the Trojans, they too are playing with a lot of confidence right now, having won each of their last three outings. All three wins came at home, including a 68-64 triumph of UCLA on Sunday. USC is now 15-9 overall and 7-5 in league play, although the squad is just 1-6 in true road games.

USC trounced Washington, 87-61, in the first meeting of the season, giving the Trojans a 66-65 edge in the all-time series with the Huskies.

The Trojans connected on 46.3 percent of their attempts from the floor, as they defeated UCLA over the weekend. USC was also tough on defense, forcing 20 turnovers and holding UCLA to a sub par 7-of-26 shooting performance from long range. Dwight Lewis led the charge with a 23-point performance, while Donte Smith chipped in 12 points off the bench. On the season, Lewis is tallying a team-best 13.7 ppg, although he is making just 39.9 percent of his field-goal attempts. Nikola Vucevic is close to averaging a double-double with 11.6 ppg and a team-high 9.8 rpg for USC, while Marcus Johnson logs 10.0 ppg and 4.6 rpg.

The Huskies dropped in 20-of-26 shots at the foul line and 6-of-17 from long range, as they downed Stanford on Saturday. Washington also won the battle on the boards, 43-38, in the 78-61 victory. Isaiah Thomas led the way with 20 points and six assists, while Quincy Pondexter posted 18 points and nine rebounds. Pondexter is averaging a healthy 20.4 ppg on the season to pace Washington and he is also pulling down a team-best 8.1 rpg. Thomas has also played a big part in the team's success, as he produces 17.5 ppg and 4.3 rpg.

Washington has been stellar at home this season and the duo of Pondexter and Thomas should help the Huskies avenge an earlier loss to USC tonight.
