Cornell (21-4) at Harvard (17-5)

GAME NOTES: The Cornell Big Red are in first place in the Ivy League, and they will take on the Harvard Crimson tonight in Cambridge.

The Big Red are 21-4 overall and will likely set a new record for wins in a season if they continue their outstanding play. Last Saturday, they recorded their ninth win in the last 10 outings with a 48-45 decision over Princeton, and they are now 6-1 against Ivy League foes. Nine of Cornell's 21 wins have come in true road games.

Harvard has won its last three to move to 17-5 overall and 6-2 in Ivy action. The Crimson are coming off an 81-67 decision over Brown last Saturday and carry a stellar 8-1 home record into this evening's affair.

Cornell owns an 89-68 series lead over Harvard, which includes an 86-50 romp over the Crimson last month.

Ryan Wittman is the top scorer on the Cornell roster, as he averages 17.0 ppg on the strength of his 40.4 percent shooting from three-point range. Jeff Foote checks in with 12.6 ppg, 8.6 rpg and 49 blocks, while Louis Dale adds 11.0 ppg. The Big Red are generating 75.0 ppg on 47 percent field goal efficiency this season, and they are holding opponents to 63.5 ppg on 40.9 percent shooting. Against Princeton last time out, Cornell got 13 points from Wittman and 11 points from Foote in the narrow win. The Big Red played tremendous defense, limiting the Tigers to 36.4 percent shooting from the field. A 30-24 rebounding advantage clearly helped the cause as well.

Jeremy Lin is the leading scorer for Harvard this season with 16.7 ppg on 51.8 percent shooting from the floor. Lin has also dished out 4.6 apg, and he has recorded 59 steals as well. Kyle Casey, who has led the team in scoring in back-to-back affairs, checks in with 10.5 ppg on 57.3 percent shooting, and Keith Wright adds 10.3 ppg on 59.2 percent efficiency. The Crimson are netting 74.5 ppg while allowing 65.9 ppg to opponents. Casey scored 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the victory over Brown last Saturday. Christian Webster posted 16 points off the bench, and Doug Miller added 12 points. The Crimson shot 52.7 percent from the floor and earned a 36-19 rebounding advantage over the Bears.

This game will be much closer than the first matchup of the season between these teams. Still, it will end in a Cornell victory.
