Brown (9-17) at Princeton (16-6)

GAME NOTES: For the second time this season, the Princeton Tigers and Brown Bears will meet in Ivy League action.

Brown took on Penn in Philadelphia last night, and the result of that tilt was an 80-73 victory. That win was the second in the last three outings for the Bears, who are now 9-17 overall and 3-6 in conference.

As for Princeton, it won its second straight game and ninth in the last 10 outings to improve to a stellar 7-1 in Ivy action and 16-6 overall. The Tigers crushed Yale last night by an 82-58 final, and they are tied with Cornell for the fewest losses in the league.

Princeton owns a 92-24 series advantage over Brown, which includes a 63-46 victory over the Bears three weeks ago.

Matt Mullery continues to lead Brown in scoring, as he is posting 15.3 ppg on 55.9 percent shooting from the floor. Mullery is also ripping down 6.4 rpg to go along with 41 blocks, both of which lead the club as well. The only other double-digit scorer in the fold is Peter Sullivan, as he is registering 12.2 ppg. The Bears are generating 66.8 ppg this season while allowing 71.9 ppg to opponents. Mullery was outstanding against Penn last night, as he scored 22 points to go with 11 rebounds. Sullivan and Garrett Leffelman both added 18 points for Brown, which received 11 points from Tucker Halpern. The Bears connected on 52.0 percent of their field goal attempts while also earning a 20-10 edge in points from the foul line.

The strength of the Princeton team is clearly its play at the defensive end of the floor, as the club is holding opponents to a national-best 52.5 ppg on 39.7 percent shooting. At the offensive end, the Tigers are mediocre at best, as they are posting a modest 59.6 ppg. Princeton is led by Douglas Davis, who is scoring 13.1 ppg on the strength of his 42.5 percent shooting from the field. Dan Mavraides is the only other double-digit scorer in the fold, as he provides 12.2 ppg. In the 24-point win over Yale on Friday, the Tigers connected on 50.8 percent of their field goal attempts, including a stellar 13-of-19 effort from three-point range. A 39-25 rebounding advantage clearly helped the cause for Princeton, which racked up 25 assists against only 12 turnovers. Mavraides led a balanced attack with 20 points.

Princeton will get the job done at home tonight, especially considering that the Tigers beat the Bears by 17 points in the first meeting this season.
