Columbia (9-14) at Harvard (17-6)

GAME NOTES: Ivy League action will take place this evening when the Harvard Crimson host the Columbia Lions at Lavietes Pavilion in Cambridge.

Friday night the Lions hit rock bottom by suffering a 48-44 setback to Dartmouth. It was the third loss in the last four games for Columbia, which is now 3-6 in conference play.

As for the Crimson, they saw their three-game winning streak come to an end with a 79-70 loss to Cornell. The setback dropped Harvard to 6-3 in league play, and also left the team with an 8-2 ledger at home.

The Lions own a comfortable 93-70 edge over Harvard in the all-time series, but the Crimson have won the last two matchups, including a 74-45 victory over Columbia earlier this season.

The Lions were tamed by Dartmouth on Friday night, as Columbia scored just 44 points in a setback to the Big Green. Columbia shot a woeful 31.0 percent from the floor, and finished a meager 2-of-23 from behind the arc. Asenso Ampim was the only player in double figures for Columbia, finishing with 10 points in the loss. As for Noruwa Agho, the Lions best player, he connected on just 2- of-12 attempts from the field and finished the game with seven points. Despite the poor effort Agho is still pacing the team with 16.6 ppg. However, as a whole the Lions are producing a meager 61.2 ppg.

Unlike their counterpart, the Crimson have enjoyed plenty of success offensively, as the team is netting 74.3 ppg, behind a strong 48.0 percent shooting effort. Jeremy Lin is currently leading the team with 17.0 ppg and 103 assists, while Kyle Casey is posting 10.7 ppg, to go along with 5.6 rpg. In the team's loss to Cornell on Friday, the Crimson scored 70 points on a 48.6 percent shooting effort, but the team finished just 2-of-10 from long range. Lin paced the team once again by scoring 24 points, while Casey added 14 points and six rebounds.

The Crimson put up a good fight against Cornell, but fell short. Expect a similar effort this evening by Harvard, but this time resulting in a victory.
