Drexel (15-13) at Bradley (13-13)

GAME NOTES: The Missouri Valley Conference will tangle with the Colonial Athletic Association this evening, as the Bradley Braves host the Drexel Dragons in a BracketBuster bout at Carver Arena.

Drexel, which is 10-6 in CAA play, heads into this matchup fresh off a 73-54 setback to Virginia Commonwealth. It was the third loss in the last six games for the Dragons, who are a meager 5-10 on the road.

As for the Braves, they dropped to 8-8 in MVC action with a 75-69 overtime loss to Indiana State in their last contest. It was the second loss in the last three games for Bradley, which is a mediocre 8-5 at home this year.

This will be just the second-ever meeting between the two schools on the hardwood. The only other matchup went in favor of the Braves.

The Dragons were no match for VCU in their recent contest, as Drexel finished with just 54 points in a loss to the Rams. Drexel shot just 36.2 percent from the floor, and finished 4-of-11 from behind the arc. Jamie Harris led the way with 20 points in the matchup, while Shannon Givens tallied 12 points off the bench. Harris has clearly been the most consistent player on the court for Drexel, as the guard is leading the team with 14.9 ppg and 100 assists. However, as a whole the Dragons have struggled offensively and head into this game netting just 63.7 ppg.

As for the Braves, they have been mildly inconsistent at the offensive end of the court as well, as the team is producing just 67.2 ppg. Andrew Warren is pacing the squad with 14.3 ppg, while Sam Maniscalco is contributing 12.4 ppg, to go along with 85 assists. Taylor Brown heads into this contest netting 13.7 ppg, and is pulling down a team-high 7.0 rpg. The last time the Braves were on the floor the team only scored 69 points in an overtime setback to Indiana State. Bradley shot a pedestrian 40.6 percent from the floor and also committed 17 turnovers. Maniscalco led the way with 15 points and five assists, while Brown added a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds. As for Warren, he connected on just 4-of-14 attempts, but finished with 13 points.

The Braves are clearly the better team in this contest and should have no trouble getting past Drexel this evening.
