GAME NOTES: In a BracketBuster meeting, the Evansville Purple Aces will host the Illinois-Chicago Flames at Roberts Stadium.

Illinois-Chicago, which is meager 2-14 in Horizon League play, stumbles into this game fresh off a 73-55 setback to Butler. It was the 12th loss in the last 13 games for the Flames, who have dropped all 14 of their contests played as the visitor.

As for the Purple Aces, they are a meager 1-15 in Missouri Valley Conference action. The last time Evansville was on the floor the team suffered a 76-70 overtime loss to Wichita State. It was the 16th setback in the last 17 games for Evansville, which has collected six of its seven victories at home.

The Purple Aces have also had trouble offensively as the team is averaging just 65.7 ppg. Colt Ryan is pacing the team with 14.9 ppg and has dished out 75 assists. James Haarsma has been solid in the paint, as the forward is netting 10.9 ppg, to go along with 7.3 rpg. The last time Evansville was in action the team scored 70 points, but still fell to Wichita State in overtime. The Purple Aces shot a pedestrian 40.7 percent from the and were paced by Ned Cox, who scored 23 points. Colt Ryan added 17 points, while Clint Hopf tallied 14 points.

Both teams have had their problems offensively, but look for the Purples Aces to earn a victory in front of a home crowd, especially since UIC is currently winless on the road.
