Loyola-Chicago (14-12) at Creighton (13-14)

GAME NOTES: The Qwest Center will be the stage for a BracketBuster matchup, as the Creighton Bluejays host the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers this evening.

The Ramblers, fell to 5-11 in Horizon League action with an 84-73 setback to Valparaiso. It was the 10th loss in the last 13 games for Loyola-Chicago, which is 5-8 on the road this season.

As for the Bluejays, they are coming off a 70-52 loss to Northern Iowa, which leaves the team with an even 8-8 ledger in Missouri Valley Conference play. It was the third loss in the last four games for Creighton, which has captured 11 of its 13 victories at home.

The Ramblers currently own an 11-5 edge over Creighton in the all-time series, but this will be the first meeting on the hardwood between the two schools since 1981.

Producing at the offensive end of the court has been a problem for Loyola, as the team is netting just 65.0 ppg. Terrance Hill is pacing the squad with 11.7 ppg, while Walt Gibler and Geoff McCammon are contributing 10.7 ppg apiece. The last time the Ramblers were in action the team scored 73 points, but still lost to Valpo. Loyola shot 45.3 percent from the floor, but finished 9-of-23 from behind the arc. Andy Polka led the way with a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds, while McCammon and Hill posted 18 and 15 points, respectively, in the setback.

The Bluejays have not been overwhelming at the offensive end of the court this season, as the team is netting just 68.4 ppg. Kenny Lawson Jr. is the only player posting double figures for Creighton, as the center is netting 12.6 ppg, to go along with a team-best 6.4 rpg. The last time Creighton was on the court the team suffered a terrible loss to Northern Iowa. The Bluejays posted just 52 points behind a meager 37.5 percent shooting effort. Antoine Young led the way in the setback with 13 points, while Justin Carter added 11 points, to go along with seven rebounds. As for Lawson Jr, he finished with 10 points in the matchup.

Neither team has been outstanding on the season, but the Bluejays have enjoyed most of their success at home, and should continue to do so this evening against Loyola-Chicago.
