GAME NOTES: The New Hampshire Wildcats travel to battle the Loyola-Maryland Greyhounds in a Bracketbuster event at Reitz Arena this afternoon.

Loyola-Maryland is coming off of a home loss to Saint Peter's this past Wednesday night, 69-61. The defeat falls in line with how streaky the Greyhounds have been all season, marking the second consecutive loss after a two-game winning streak. Lately, the team has gone 4-8 in its last 10 contests, all of which came against Mid Atlantic Athletic Association foes.

New Hampshire was handed a 72-53 defeat when it visited Maine on Wednesday night in America East action. The loss brought the Wildcats' road record down to a dismal 2-12 and marked their second straight loss after winning two. They have fallen victim in five of the past seven contests.

In 13 games all-time against each other, New Hampshire comes into this afternoon's contest holding a slight 7-6 edge.

Loyola-Maryland fell to the Saint Peter's Peacocks 69-61 on Wednesday night, bringing their conference record to a meager 5-11 and their home record to .500 (5-5). J'hared Hall led the way for the Greyhounds, sinking 12 points in the loss. Jawann Wright netted 11 points and Shane Walker added 10 as Loyola- Maryland saw its record drop to 12-14 on the season. They held a 26-21 advantage at the intermission despite shooting a lackluster 30.0 percent from field-goal range in the opening half. The Greyhounds then let Saint Peter's go on a 12-0 run and relinquished the lead for good, as the defense allowed six three-pointers in the second half. The Peacocks visited the charity stripe 19 times, 16 of which were converted. Loyola-Maryland is led by Brett Harvey's 13.2 points per game, followed by Jamal Barney's 11.5 ppg.

New Hampshire is led by Alvin Abreu and Tyrone Conley, averaging 14.9 and 11.8 ppg, respectively. Abreu scored a team-high 17 points in Wednesday night's loss to Maine, 72-53. Chandler Rhodes added 12 points, while Dane DiLiegro grabbed seven rebounds. The Wildcats found themselves in a rough deficit at halftime, trailing 43-27 after shooting just 33.3 percent (9-of-27) from the floor. The second stanza didn't prove to be much more promising, falling off to a 23.3 percent mark. New Hampshire hasn't been too impressive in that aspect all season, connecting on an average of 37.6 percent of its shots, scoring 61.2 ppg, while giving up 62.6 ppg on 40.9 percent for its opponents.

Both teams are streaky and are coming into today's showdown looking to bounce back from losing two consecutive games. However, New Hampshire has proven to be a very weak team away from home, so look for Loyola-Maryland to come through with the victory.
