Sacramento State (9-18) at Montana (18-8)

GAME NOTES: Tonight at the Dahlberg Arena the Montana Grizzlies will host the Sacramento State Hornets in a Big Sky Conference tussle.

The last time the Hornets were on the floor the team suffered an 80-74 setback to Montana State. It was the eighth loss in the last 10 games for Sacramento State, which is a meager 3-10 in league action.

As for the Grizzlies, they saw their five-game winning streak come to an end with a 69-68 setback to Eastern Washington. Montana, which is 12-1 at home this season, fell to 9-5 in conference play with the loss to the Eagles.

Earlier this season the Grizzlies grabbed a slim 57-56 victory over Sacramento State. It was the sixth straight win for Montana over the Hornets, pushing their lead in the all-time series to 27-5.

Offensively the Hornets have had no sting, netting just 64.9 ppg, behind a pedestrian 41.1 percent shooting effort. Justin Eller is currently leading the team with 10.6 ppg and 5.6 rpg, while Sultan Toles-Bey is contributing 10.3 ppg, to go along with 89 assists. The last time the Hornets were on the floor the team scored 74 points, but still managed to loss to Montana State. Sacramento State shot 41.3 percent from the floor and also made 11-of-22 attempts from behind the arc. John Dickson led the way with 22 points in the loss, while Duro Bjegovic added 16 points and seven rebounds. Eller and Mike Marcial added 10 points apiece in the setback.

The last time the Grizzlies were on the floor the team fell just short against Eastern Washington, losing by a one-point margin. Montana shot 46.3 percent from the floor and also made 8-of-20 attempts from behind the arc. Anthony Johnson did most of the damage for Montana, as the guard poured in 28 points. Michael Taylor was the only other player in double figures for the Grizzlies, finishing the game with 11 points. Johnson has been the best player on the floor for Montana this season, as the guard is averaging 18.4 ppg, to go along with a team-best 82 assists. Brian Qvale heads into this game with 10.3 ppg for Montana, which as a whole is netting 69.3 ppg.

The Grizzlies have had some time to get over their recent setback and should be back to form this evening. Look for Montana to dominate the Hornets at both ends of the floor.
