U-C-L-A (12-13) at Washington (17-9)

GAME NOTES: The UCLA Bruins have traveled to Seattle for a Pac-10 Conference battle with the Washington Huskies.

UCLA managed to halt a two-game skid with a 71-51 victory over Washington State the other night. The Bruins are now a respectable 7-6 in league action, although their 12-13 overall mark leaves much to be desired. The hope tonight is that UCLA can even its record in true road games, as it currently stands at 3-4.

As for Washington, it has suffered losses in two of the last three outings to fall to 17-9 overall and 7-7 in conference. The Huskies dropped a 67-64 decision to USC on Thursday in front of a deflated home crowd, just the second home loss for the team in 18 tries.

UCLA recorded a thrilling 62-61 victory over Washington in the first meeting between the two teams this season, and the Bruins own a commanding 91-36 advantage in the all-time series.

Michael Roll and Malcolm Lee have started all 25 games for UCLA this season, and they are scoring 13.9 ppg and 12.2 ppg, respectively. Roll has dished out a team-high 90 assists, and he is a 45.1 percent shooter from three-point range. The Bruins are generating 66.9 ppg thus far while permitting 67.4 ppg to foes. In the 20-point romp over Washington State last time out, UCLA shot 69.6 percent from the floor in the first half, including 5-of-9 from three- point range, en route to a 40-26 lead at intermission. Over the final 20 minutes, the Bruins made good on 61.9 percent of their field goal attempts to seal the victory. They played tremendous defense in the tilt, holding the Cougars to 36 percent field goal efficiency. Roll led five double-digit scorers with 15 points.

The Huskies are not a balanced offensive team by any means, as they rely heavily on the talents of two players. Quincy Pondexter leads the team with 20.3 ppg on 53.9 percent shooting from the floor, and the fact that he is also grabbing 8.1 rpg makes Pondexter a serious contender for Pac-10 Player of the Year honors. Isaiah Thomas pitches in 17.0 ppg for the Huskies, who are racking up 80.5 ppg while allowing 71.3 ppg. Against USC in the three-point loss last time out, Pondexter scored 18 points, while Matt Bryan-Amaning added 14 points. The Huskies got just five points from Thomas, however, as his team simply didn't get the job done.

Washington certainly hasn't gotten over the one-point loss to UCLA in the first meeting. Expect the Huskies to return the favor at home.
