Eastern Michigan (14-13) at Ball State (15-11)

GAME NOTES: The Ball State Cardinals will try to remain on top of the West Division in the Mid-American Conference when they host the Eastern Michigan Eagles at Worthen Arena.

The Eagles suffered a 68-66 setback to Detroit over BracketBusters weekend. The loss snapped the two-game winning streak for EMU, which is a mere 6-7 in MAC action.

Ball State, which currently leads the West Division with an 8-5 mark, rolls into this contest with a three-game winning streak. The last time the Cardinals were on the floor the team took a break from league play and collected a 68-52 victory over Tennessee-Martin.

Earlier this season the Eagles grabbed a 57-53 victory over Ball State. Despite the loss, the Cardinals cling to a 55-53 edge in the all-time series.

The last time the Eagles were in action the team scored just 66 points in a loss to Detroit. Eastern Michigan shot a mediocre 41.8 percent from the floor and finished just 7-of-21 from behind the arc. Carlos Medlock led the way with 21 points and six rebounds, while Brandon Bowdry added 18 points. Justin Dobbins helped out with 13 points and eight rebounds. Bowdry has been the best option for EMU on the season, as the big man is netting 16.7 ppg, to go along with 9.7 rpg. Medlock is contributing 15.6 ppg and has dished out 100 assists, while Dobbins is chipping in 11.9 ppg. As a whole, the Eagles have had their ups and downs offensively and come into this game with 65.8 ppg.

Producing at the offensive end of the court this season has been a problem for Ball State as well, as the team is netting just 60.8 ppg, behind a 41.7 percent shooting effort. Jarrod Jones is pacing the tea with 12.3 ppg and 7.5 rpg, while Jauwan Scaife is posting 10.0 ppg. The last time Ball State was on the floor the team shot 44.4 percent from the floor en route to a win over Tennessee-Martin. Terrence Watson and Malik Perry led the way with 15 points apiece, while Jones added 13 points, to go along with eight rebounds. Randy Davis tallied 10 points and seven boards as well in the victory.

Neither team has been anything special offensively this season, but the Cardinals are home, so look for them to grab a much needed conference win.
