Kent State (20-8) at Bowling Green (14-12)

GAME NOTES: Looking to keep pace for the top spot in the East Division of the Mid-American Conference, the Kent State Golden Flashes will take on the Bowling Green Falcons this evening at Anderson Arena.

Kent State is currently tied with Akron at 10-3 atop the division. The last time the Golden Flashes were in action they defeated Western Carolina, 74-72 in BracketBusters play. It was the 10th win in the last 11 games for KSU, which is a mediocre 7-5 on the road this season.

As for the Falcons, they collected an 87-70 victory over Valparaiso on Saturday. It was the third win in the last four games for BGSU, which returns to MAC play looking to improve on its lackluster 6-7 mark against league foes.

The Falcons pushed their lead in the all-time series against Kent State to an 80-63 margin with a 76-70 decision over the Golden Flashes earlier this season.

The Golden Flashes put forth an impressive effort in their last contest, as they shot 51.9 percent en route to a two-point win over Western Carolina. Justin Greene led the way in the win with 21 points and nine rebounds, while Tyree Evans tallied 14 points. Chris Singletary and Rodriquez Sherman contributed 11 points apiece, while Singletary also dished out nine assists. Greene has been the top player on the floor for KSU this season, as the forward is posting 13.5 ppg, to go along with 6.6 rpg. Singletary is contributing 11.8 ppg, to go along with 105 assists, while Evans is posting 10.8 ppg.

The last time the Falcons were on the court the team exploded offensively, shooting 54.5 percent from the field, while also connecting on 24-of-28 attempts from the foul line, en route to a 17-point win over Valparaiso. Dee Brown led the way with 20 points, while Joe Jakubowski tallied 19 points. Erik Marschall contributed 17 points, while Scott Thomas finished with a double- double of 12 points and 11 rebounds. Thomas has been solid throughout the season for BGSU, as the forward is pacing the team with 12.6 ppg, to go along with 6.4 rpg. Dee Brown is contributing 11.1 ppg for the Falcons, who as a whole are producing just 62.3 ppg.

The Falcons were outstanding in their last contest, but expect them to have a much tougher time against a dangerous Kent State squad. This will not be an easy game for KSU, but if the Flashes want to keep pace with Akron this is a must have game.
