Miami-Ohio (12-15) at Ohio University (15-13)

GAME NOTES: The Convocation Center will be the stage for a Mid-American Conference tilt this evening, as the Bobcats of Ohio University host the Miami-Ohio RedHawks.

The RedHawks stepped out of league play to take part in BracketBusters action this past weekend. Miami-Ohio snapped a two-game slide with a win over Southeast Missouri State, and will now return to MAC play hoping to improve on its 8-5 mark.

As for the Bobcats, they captured a 64-59 victory over Wright State over BracketBusters weekend. The win snapped a two-game slide for Ohio, which returns to MAC play with a weak 5-8 ledger in league play.

The Bobcats hold a slim, 95-89 lead over Miami-Ohio in the all-time series, but earlier this year the RedHawks chipped into that deficit with a 79-67 victory over Ohio.

Producing at the offensive end of the floor has been a problem for Miami-Ohio, which enters this matchup netting just 62.3 ppg. Kenny Hayes is the only player netting double figures on the season, as the guard is averaging 14.3 ppg, to go along with 3.1 apg. Julian Mavunga is second on the team with 9.6 ppg, but the forward is also pacing the squad with 6.6 rpg. The last time the RedHawks were on the floor the team scored 69 points in a win over Southeast Missouri State. Miami-Ohio shot 43.4 percent from the floor in the contest and was led by Antonio Ballard's 12-point effort. Mavunga and Orlando Williams tallied 11 points apiece, while Hayes finished with 10 points.

The Bobcats only scored 64 points in their last contest, but that was good enough for them to slip past Wright State for the victory. Ohio shot a mediocre 43.8 percent from the floor and finished 17-of-21 from the foul line. Armon Bassett led the way with 26 points, while DeVaughn Washington added 16 points and seven rebounds. On the season the team is being paced by Bassett, who is posting 15.4 ppg. D.J. Cooper is contributing 14.2 ppg and a team-best 154 assists, while Tommy Freeman is helping out with 10.1 ppg. As a whole, the Bobcats enter this matchup netting a respectable 74.1 ppg.

The Bobcats have played extremely well at home this season and should have no trouble flexing their offensive muscle against Miami-Ohio this evening.
