UNC Wilmington (8-20) at Drexel (15-14)

GAME NOTES: The struggling UNC Wilmington Seahawks limp into Philadelphia to take on the Drexel Dragons in a Colonial Athletic Association affair.

Losses in three consecutive outings and in seven of the last eight games have dropped the Seahawks to 8-20 overall and 4-12 in CAA action. They are coming off a 76-68 loss to Radford on the road and are 3-10 in true road games to date.

As for Drexel, it has suffered losses in three of its last four games to fall to 15-14 overall and 10-6 in conference. The Dragons dropped a 76-60 decision to Bradley on BracketBusters Saturday, and they will close out the regular season this coming Saturday against James Madison.

UNC Wilmington owns a 10-6 series lead over Drexel, but the Dragons earned a 76-52 win over the Seahawks last season.

Chad Tomko continues to lead UNC Wilmington with 13.3 ppg, but his 38.6 percent shooting from the field can certainly stand some improvement. Tomko also tops the roster with 118 assists and 45 steals, while John Fields paces the club with 8.7 rpg and 59 blocks. Fields is also the only other double- digit scorer on the roster with 10.2 ppg. The Seahawks are generating 66.1 ppg while allowing 71.2 ppg to their opponents. In the loss to Radford last time out in non-conference action, UNCW shot a lowly 32 percent from the floor and was outscored 15-7 from the foul line. They were also outrebounded by a 42-36 margin and watched Radford shoot a stellar 56.3 percent from the field. Montez Downey finished with 23 points, while Fields missed the contest.

Drexel shot just 31 percent from the floor in the first half against Bradley on Saturday and trailed by seven points at intermission. The Dragons were only able to improve to 37.5 percent efficiency in the second half, and they permitted the Braves to make good on 54 percent of their attempts in the contest. Drexel got 16 points from Chris Fouch in the victory, and Leon Spencer tallied 13 points and 10 rebounds. As for Jamie Harris, he scored 10 points for the Dragons, who are averaging 63.6 ppg this season while allowing an almost identical 63.3 ppg. Harris is netting 14.7 ppg to go along with 3.5 apg. As for Fouch, he provides 10.9 ppg.

The home team gets the nod in this game, as UNCW has seemingly forgotten how to win.
