UNC Greensboro (6-21) at Davidson (14-14)

GAME NOTES: The Davidson Wildcats play host to the UNC Greensboro Spartans tonight in a Southern Conference battle at Belk Arena.

UNC Greensboro ends a three-game road trip tonight and is coming off of a 59-53 victory over The Citadel on Saturday. The win snapped a five-game losing streak for the Spartans, all against conference opponents.

Davidson comes into tonight's contest hoping to bounce back after a 78-73 road defeat at the hands of Chattanooga on Monday night. The Wildcats have alternated wins and losses in their last six affairs, so they hope that streak continues at least for tonight's game. Their SoCon record currently stands at 9-7.

Tonight's meeting marks the 26th between these two teams, as Davidson leads the series by an 18-7 count. UNCG has come up short in the last eight encounters with the Wildcats.

UNC Greensboro ended a five-game skid on Saturday, defeating The Citadel in a 59-53 final. Ben Stywall scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for the Spartans who needed that win in a big way. Stywall leads the team in scoring on the season, netting 14.4 ppg. He also comes up with 10.6 rpg, marking the team's only double-digit performer in both categories. Mikko Koivisto added 18 points for the Spartans in the win over the Bulldogs, improving the club's conference record to 5-11. UNCG held a slim 24-23 advantage at the break, as both teams weren't very impressive from the floor in the first half. The Spartans trailed 45-44 at one point in the second stanza, but were able to go on an 8-0 run to help seal just the team's sixth victory on the season. They dominated the glass, outrebounding The Citadel by a 41-24 margin. On the year, UNCG has had trouble shooting the ball, connecting on just 38.2 percent of its field goal attempts, while its opponents connect on 46.8 percent of their total shots.

Davidson lost to Chattanooga on Monday night after defeating Furman on Saturday afternoon. Jake Cohen led the way for the Wildcats against the Mocs, scoring 16 points, while Brendan McKillop added 13 and Nik Cochran and Will Archambault both provided healthy efforts as well, tallying 13 and 10 points, respectively. The Wildcats found themselves leading at intermission, 35-32, after connecting on 50.0 percent of their field goals in the opening half. However, they struggled in the second stanza, falling off to 35.1 percent efficiency from the floor. The Wildcats' defense didn't provide much help, letting Chattanooga sink 52.0 percent of its field goal attempts, as the Wildcats fell victim by five points. Cohen leads the team in scoring on the season, netting 13.1 ppg. J.P. Kuhlman (12.2 ppg) and the aforementioned Archambault (11.1 ppg) round out the team's double-digit performers.

Davidson should have no problem gaining the victory in tonight's affair, however, Stywall does have the ability to take over a game. If the Wildcats can control UNCG's star, expect them to climb over the .500 mark on the season.
