Denver (16-11) at South Alabama (15-14)

GAME NOTES: The South Alabama Jaguars will close out their regular season this evening when they host the Denver Pioneers in a Sun Belt Conference matchup at the Mitchell Center.

The Pioneers pushed their league mark to 9-7 on the year with a 53-45 victory over New Orleans in their last contest. It was the second straight win for Denver, which is a terrible 2-10 on the road this year.

As for the Jaguars, they fell to 7-10 in conference play with an 81-54 setback to Middle Tennessee. It was the second straight loss for South Alabama, which is a mediocre 8-6 at home this season.

The all-time series between the two schools is tied at 10 games apiece, as Denver has won the last two contests. Earlier this season the Pioneers defeated the Jags, 71-48.

The last time the Pioneers were on the floor the team only scored 53 points, but that was surprisingly enough for Denver to grab a win. The Pioneers shot just 39.5 percent from the floor, but used an 18-of-27 clip from the foul line. Chase Hallam led the way with 19 points and also grabbed six boards, while Nate Rohnert posted a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds. Scoring has been a problem for Denver throughout the season, as the team is netting just 65.3 ppg. Rohnert is leading the team with 14.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg and 105 assists. Brian Stafford is the only other player posting double figures, as the guard is netting 11.9 ppg.

The Jaguars were ice cold in their last contest, as the team scored just 54 points in a loss to Middle Tennessee. South Alabama shot just 34.7 percent from the floor and finished 1-of-11 from behind the arc. Tim Williams led the way with 17 points, while Martino Brock tallied 14 points. Javier Carter posted 12 points in the loss. Williams has been the best player on the floor for South Alabama, as the guard is leading the team with 15.9 ppg and 7.5 rpg. Brock is contributing 12.3 ppg, while Bryan Sherrer is netting 10.2 ppg.

The Jaguars have struggled with consistency throughout the season, especially at the offensive end of the floor. However, the Pioneers have been terrible on the road and that should help South Alabama grab a victory in this contest.
