The Citadel (15-13) at Furman (12-15)

GAME NOTES: The Citadel Bulldogs and Furman Paladins meet in a Southern Conference tussle tonight a Timmons Arena in Greenville.

The Bulldogs enter the tilt on a low note, as they suffered a 59-53 setback to UNC Greensboro on Saturday. The defeat ended the team's season-high five-game winning streak and dropped it to 15-13 overall and 9-7 within the conference. The Citadel will now play its final two game of the regular season on the road, where it has gone 4-3 versus SoCon competition.

As for Furman, it most recently concluded a three-game road trip with a 61-58 setback at Davidson on Saturday. It was the second loss in a row and the fourth in five games for the Paladins, who fell to 12-15 overall and 6-10 within the conference.

The Paladins lead the head-to-head series with the Bulldogs, 110-81, but The Citadel has won the last three meetings in the rivalry.

The Citadel hit on just 38.5 percent of its attempts from the floor and was outscored at the foul line, 15-5, in a 59-53 loss to UNCG over the weekend. Furthermore, the Bulldogs were thoroughly outplayed under the glass, losing the battle on the boards by a decisive 41-24 margin. Austin Dahn scored 17 points on 5-of-9 three-pointers in the defeat for The Citadel, while Cameron Wells had 14 points and eight assists. On the season, Wells has done it all, leading the way with 17.4 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 4.3 apg and 43 steals. The only other player even scoring in double figure for the Bulldogs is Zach Urbanus, who chips in with 10.9 ppg.

Trailing 61-58, Justin Dehm had a chance to force overtime, but his three- point try was off the mark and Furman fell at Davidson over the weekend. The Paladins went 9-of-18 from downtown thanks to a 6-of-10 effort by Dehm, who finished with 22 points and four steals for the Paladins. Amu Saaka tacked on nine points and five boards, but Jordan Miller had just five points. Saaka currently tops the roster in each scoring (16.1 ppg) and rebounding (7.1 rpg), while Miller ranks second with 14.0 ppg. Dehm chips in with 8.7 ppg for Furman, which is netting 69.9 ppg as a team.

The Citadel is a bit more talented then Furman and should be able to come away with a road victory tonight.
