Canisius (13-15) at Loyola Maryland (12-15)

GAME NOTES: The Loyola Maryland Greyhounds continue their four-game homestand tonight, as they take on the Canisius Golden Griffins in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at Reitz Arena.

The Greyhounds enter the final week of the regular season already knowing their fate, as they are all set to take on Manhattan in the opening round of the MAAC Tournament a week from tonight. Loyola, which is in eighth place in the MAAC with a 5-11 record, has fallen in three straight, including a 61-60 loss against New Hampshire in non-conference play on Saturday.

Canisius meanwhile, is 7-9 within the conference and trails both Niagara and Rider by just a game for fifth place. The Griffins, who take on Rider this Sunday, stepped out of league play on Saturday and captured a 70-66 victory over James Madison.

Canisius leads the all-time series with Loyola, 32-19, and the Griffins have come out on top in each of the past three encounters.

The Golden Griffins dropped in 10-of-24 attempts from long distance and that helped them slip past JMU over the weekend. Canisius shot a decent 43.5 percent from the floor and also scored 19 points off 15 JMU turnovers. Frank Turner led the charge with a double-double of 16 points and 13 assists, while Greg Logins posted 15 points and eight rebounds. For the season, Turner has nearly done it all for the Griffins, as he leads the team with 16.8 ppg, 5.7 apg and 60 steals. Julius Coles has provided a nice complement to him and he checks in with 14.7 ppg and 4.7 rpg.

The Greyhounds were held scoreless for the final 2:26 of regulation and Tyrone Conley hit a bucket with 0.7 ticks left to give New Hampshire a 61-60 victory on Saturday. Loyola was simply dominated on the boards, 43-26, including 17-5 on the offensive glass of the setback. Jamal Barney guided the team in defeat with 16 points, while Brett Harvey, Jawaan Wright and Brian Rudolph all had 10 points. On the season, Harvey tops the club in scoring at 13.0 ppg and he is a 37.7 percent three-point shooter. At 11.7 ppg, Barney is the only other player on the team currently scoring in double figures.

Canisius still has a lot to play for and that should give the team the motivation it needs to pick up a road victory tonight.
