GAME NOTES: Northern Arizona will close out its regular season this evening when the Lumberjacks take on the Sacramento State Hornets in a Big Sky Conference bout at the Nest.

Sacramento State fell to a meager 3-11 in conference play with an 86-58 setback to Montana in its last matchup. It was the ninth loss in the last 11 games for the Hornets, who are just 5-6 at home.
The Lumberjacks grabbed a 75-71 victory over the Hornets earlier this season, and now own a commanding 26-9 edge over Sacramento State in the all-time series.
The Lumberjacks needed overtime in their last contest, but they eventually grabbed a three-point win over Eastern Washington. NAU shot 44.8 percent from the floor, and was paced by Cameron Jones, who scored 23 points. Gabe Rogers added 18 points for the Lumberjacks, while Shane Johannsen tallied a double- double of 14 points and 13 rebounds. Jones has been the top player on the floor throughout the season for Northern Arizona, as the guard is posting 19.3 ppg, to go along with 4.8 rpg and 2.8 apg. Johannsen has also been productive, netting 11.1 ppg, to go along with 5.7 rpg. On the season, the Lumberjacks are shooting an impressive 47.2 percent from the floor, but that has led to just 70.5 ppg.
The Hornets were terrible in their last contest, netting just 58 points in a loss to Montana. Sacramento State committed 19 turnovers in the loss and that led to 27 points for the Grizzlies. Sultan Toles-Bey led the way with 14 points, while Michael Selling and Justin Eller tallied 13 points apiece. Eller is currently leading the way for Sacramento State with 10.7 ppg and 5.6 rpg, while Toles-Bey is contributing 10.5 ppg, to go along with 90 assists. As a whole, the team has struggled offensively, netting just 64.6 ppg.
The Hornets are home for this matchup, but they have been dreadful this season, and should struggle against a solid Northern Arizona squad.

Where the players come to play and STAY.
