Boston College (14-13) at Georgia Tech (13-9)

GAME NOTES: The Boston College Eagles bring a modest two-game win streak into today's ACC road clash with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

The two-game run has come on the heels of a four-game slide for the inconsistent Eagles, who are 14-13 overall and a disappointing 5-8 in league action. They were tremendously impressive on Wednesday, however, knocking off Virginia Tech in an 80-60 final. Boston College has played eight true road games heading into today's affair, and five of those have ended in defeat.

As for Georgia Tech, it has been idle since last Saturday when it suffered a 76-74 loss to Maryland on the road. That setback was the third in the last four games for the Yellow Jackets, and their 6-7 ACC record overshadows an 18-9 overall mark. Georgia Tech is happy to return home where it is 13-1 thus far.

Georgia Tech owns a 7-4 series advantage over Boston College, but the Eagles won the most recent meeting by a 67-66 final last season.

Joe Trapani is averaging 14.3 ppg this season as the leading scorer for Boston College. Reggie Jackson adds 13.2 ppg and 118 assists, while Corey Raji provides 11.6 ppg and 6.1 rpg. As for Rakim Sanders, he rounds out a foursome of double-digit scorers with 11.4 ppg. The Eagles are generating 70.1 ppg while allowing 66.1 ppg to opponents. Trapani scored 17 points against Virginia Tech on Wednesday, and Sanders added 15 points and nine rebounds. Raji tallied 13 points for the Eagles, who shot 50.9 percent from the floor while holding the Hokies to 31.1 percent efficiency. A 49-28 rebounding advantage was a major key to victory as well.

Gani Lawal is a man to watch for Georgia Tech, as the standout big man is scoring 13.9 ppg to go along with 9.3 rpg. Derrick Favors joins Lawal up front, and the stellar freshman is scoring 11.5 ppg on 59.7 percent field goal efficiency. Favors is tops with 51 blocks and second with 8.5 rpg. The Yellow Jackets are generating 74.3 ppg while allowing 64.6 ppg to opponents on 37.2 percent shooting from the field. They are also outrebounding the opposition by five boards. In the two-point loss to Maryland, Favors scored 21 points and grabbed 18 rebounds, perhaps the most impressive effort of his rookie campaign. Iman Shumpert tallied 17 points and Lawal added 12 points for Tech, which was outshot and outrebounded while committing four more turnovers than the Terps.

In what figures to be a close game from start to finish, give a narrow edge to Georgia Tech based solely on the homecourt advantage.
