Brown (10-18) at Dartmouth (5-20)

GAME NOTES: The Brown Bears have traveled to Hanover, New Hampshire for an Ivy League tussle with the Dartmouth Big Green.

Brown carried a modest two-game win streak into last night's meeting with Harvard, but the Bears were clearly outclassed in the 91-71 setback. With the loss, they fell to 10-18 overall, including 4-7 in Ivy action.

As for Dartmouth, it has suffered losses in two straight games and nine of the last 10, dropping the squad to 5-20 overall and a horrendous 1-10 in league play. On Friday, the Big Green put forth a poor offensive effort in a 55-45 loss to Yale. The only reason for optimism tonight is that all five victories thus far have come at home.

Brown beat Dartmouth by a 75-60 final on February 12th, but the Big Green own a 75-65 series lead over the Bears.

Matt Mullery is clearly the best player on the Brown roster, as he is netting 15.0 ppg on the strength of 56.2 percent shooting from the floor. In addition to the offensive output, Mullery is ripping down 6.3 rpg to go along with 43 steals. The only other double-digit scorer for the Bears is Peter Sullivan, as he checks in with 12.5 ppg. The Bears are netting 66.6 ppg this season while holding opponents to 71.9 ppg. Against Harvard last night, Brown actually shot an impressive 53.5 percent from the floor, but the club committed 18 turnovers and allowed the Crimson to shoot 58.1 percent. Although the Bears did earn a 19-7 edge in points from the foul line, that advantage was offset by the fact that Harvard nailed 12 three-pointers. Garrett Leffelman scored 19 points in defeat, but Mullery was held to nine points.

The fact that Ronnie Dixon is the leading scorer for Dartmouth with only 8.9 ppg is proof of the team's major offensive struggles. The Big Green are only generating 53.8 ppg on 38.3 percent shooting from the field, including 28.8 percent from three-point range. Dartmouth is permitting 64.4 ppg to foes, and the club is being outrebounded by six boards per contest. Last night, the Big Green turned the ball over 20 times and shot a horrendous 14-of-56 from the field, including 3-of-13 from three-point range. That poor offensive showing overshadowed a strong defensive effort that saw Dartmouth force 20 turnovers and hold Yale to 38.8 percent shooting. Robby Pride paced the Big Green with 13 points in the setback.

Expect the Bears to complete the season sweep of the Big Green tonight, as Mullery will be the best player on the court.
