College of Charleston (19-10) at Furman (13-15)

GAME NOTES: The College of Charleston Cougars will tune up for the Southern Conference Tournament by traveling to Furman to conclude the regular season this afternoon in Greenville.

College of Charleston was a 74-68 loser at Wofford Thursday night. The result cost the Cougars the top seed out of the SoCon's South Division in next week's conference tournament. College of Charleston is locked into the two seed and will get a bye in the tournament's opening round. College of Charleston is 19-10 overall and 13-4 in the conference. The Cougars are 6-8 on the road this season.

Furman scored a mild upset Thursday night, winning at home over The Citadel 59-44. The Paladins now stand at 13-15 overall and 7-10 in the conference. Furman stands in fifth place in the SoCon's South Division. A win today will assure the Paladins of the division's fifth seed in the conference tournament. They are 8-5 at home this season.

The Cougars were 92-80 winners over the Paladins in Charleston on January 21st. College of Charleston has won four straight meetings and 22 of the last 25. Furman still leads the series however, 40-33.

Andrew Goudelock scored 24 points for the Cougars to lead all scorers. Tony White Jr. added 16 points and Jeremy Simmons grabbed 10 rebounds. Goudelock is second in the Southern Conference in scoring at 19.3 ppg, shooting 46.6 percent from the floor and 78.3 percent from the foul line. Goudelock is also leading the team at 3.8 apg, seventh best in the SoCon. He's one of four Cougars averaging in double figures. Donavan Monroe is providing 12.3 ppg, Jeremy Simmons is at 12.1 points per contest, while White is at 11.9 ppg. Simmons is also the leading rebounder on the ballclub at 8.2 rpg, the fourth best mark in the conference. College of Charleston is shooting a respectable 45.9 percent from the floor and a solid 73.0 percent from the foul line. The Cougars are averaging 74.6 ppg, while giving up 72.7 defensively.

Jordan Miller scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Furman to its win over The Citadel. Amu Saaka scored 14 points and added 10 boards for the Paladins, while Darryl Evans chipped in 10 points. Furman led by 15 early in the second half, and prevailed despite shooting just 17-of-27 from the foul line. Saaka leads the Paladins in scoring at 16.1 ppg and in rebounding at 7.2 boards per contest. Those numbers put him fourth in the conference in scoring and sixth in rebounding. He's shooting 46.2 percent from the floor and 71.1 percent from the foul line. Miller is averaging 14.1 ppg, good for eighth in the conference. Darryl Evans is leading the team in assists at 3.2 apg. The Paladins are scoring 68.6 ppg, while shooting 42.1 percent from the floor. They're allowing 68.7 defensively.

Furman has a higher seed to shoot for as they close out the regular season on their homecourt. That will give the Paladins some incentive in this one.
