GAME NOTES: Mountain West Conference action will take place this evening at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum, when the TCU Horned Frogs host the Colorado State Rams.
The last time the Rams were on the floor the team fell to 6-7 in conference play with a 72-66 loss to New Mexico. It was the third straight setback for Colorado State, which is a meager 3-8 on the road this season.
The Horned Frogs head into this contest fresh off a 78-62 loss to UNLV. It was the seventh loss in the last nine games for TCU, which has struggled in league play, posting just a 4-9 ledger.
Earlier this season the Rams grabbed a 63-57 decision over TCU. Despite the loss, the Horned Frogs still own a 9-7 edge in the all-time series.
The Rams were ice cold in their last contest, as the team shot just 38.5 percent from the floor, en route to a 72-66 setback to New Mexico. Adam Nigon scored 23 points in the loss, while Andy Ogide tallied 12 points. Dorian Green finished with 11 points and six assists in the matchup. Green has been the most consistent player on the floor for Colorado State, as the guard is leading the team with 12.3 ppg and 63 assists. Ogide is contributing 11.4 ppg, to go along with a team-best 6.1 rpg. As a whole however, the Rams are netting a mediocre 66.3 ppg behind a 42.0 percent shooting effort.
The last time the Horned Frogs were on the floor the team shot 46.0 percent, but finished with just 62 points in a loss to UNLV. TCU was its own worst enemy, as the team committed 21 turnovers, which turned into 24 points for UNLV. Ronnie Moss led the way in the loss with 25 points, while Zvonko Buljan tallied a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds. Moss has been the most consistent player on the floor for TCU, pacing the team with 14.8 ppg and 176 assists. Buljan is contributing 12.3 ppg and 8.6 rpg, while Edvinas Ruzgas is netting 10.6 ppg for TCU, which as a whole is producing 66.7 ppg.
The last time these two schools collided, the Horned Frogs fell to Colorado State. However, this time around look for TCU to even things up in front of a home crowd.
