GAME NOTES: Tonight at the Bren Events Center the UC Irvine Anteaters will host the Cal State Matadors in a Big West Conference bout.

The Matadors fell to 5-8 in league play with a 74-69 setback to UC Santa Barbara on Wednesday. It was the fifth loss in the last six games for Cal State Northridge, which is a pathetic 2-12 on the road this season.

The last time the Anteaters were in action the team grabbed a 66-65 victory over Marist. It was the third win in the last five games for UCI, which is just 4-9 in league play.

Earlier this season the Anteaters grabbed a 65-62 victory over Cal State Northridge, and now own a 23-20 edge in the all-time series.

The last time Northridge was on the court the team committed 26 turnovers in a loss to UC Santa Barbara. Northridge shot 41.5 percent from the floor in the matchup, and connected on 21-of-36 attempts from the foul line. Kenny Daniels led the way in the loss with 23 points and nine rebounds, while Mark Hill and Willie Galick posted 12 and 11 points, respectively. Daniels is leading the team on the season with 15.1 ppg, while Lenny Daniel is posting 11.6 ppg, to go along with 7.5 rpg. Cal State Northridge is producing a mediocre 72.0 ppg, but at the same time the Matadors are surrendering 75.6 ppg.

Eric Wise is one of three players netting double figures for UC Irvine, as the forward is posting 16.0 ppg, to go along with 6.1 rpg. Michael Hunter is netting 13.4 ppg, while Darren Moore is contributing 10.3 ppg. As a whole, the Anteaters are producing a lackluster 66.0 ppg, behind a pedestrian 41.7 percent shooting effort. The last time the Anteaters were in action the team only shot 34.9 percent from the floor, but still managed to grab a victory over Marist. Wise led the way in the win with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Moore also posted a double-double, finishing the game with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

The Anteaters have enjoyed most of their success this season at home and should continue to do so this evening against CSN.
