Drexel (15-15) at James Madison (12-18)

GAME NOTES: The regular season comes to a close tonight for the Drexel Dragons and James Madison Dukes, as the two are set to square off in a Colonial Athletic Association tilt at the Convocation Center in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Drexel currently stands in sixth place with a 10-7 mark in the CAA. The Dragons have limped down the stretch with losses in three straight games, and four of their last five overall. On Wednesday, they closed out their home schedule with a 75-69 loss to UNC Wilmington.

The Dukes have had a trying season, and they've lost three of their last four entering tonight's finale. JMU succumbed to Virginia Commonwealth on Wednesday, 76-62. Still, the Dukes have been quite formidable at home this season with a 9-4 record.

Drexel has won 13 of the 14 all-time meetings between these two schools, and that includes a 78-57 victory over the Dukes on January 20th.

Trailing by as many as 11 in the second half against UNCW, the Dragons rallied to cut the deficit to 69-67 with just under two minutes to play. However, they weren't able to complete the comeback, as UNCW made five of six free throws in the final minute. Chris Fouch paced Drexel with 15 points off the bench, while Jamie Harris scored 14 and Gerald Colds finished with 11. A potential game- tying three-pointer by Fouch in that final minute rimmed out, which was indicative of the game for the Dragons, who shot just 4-of-17 from the perimeter. Harris is the team's only player to have started all 30 games this season, and he leads the squad with 14.7 ppg. Fouch has come off the bench for every contest, and he is putting up 11.1 points per contest. He leads the team with 62 three-pointers (.390) on the year. Entering this final game, the Dragons are scoring 63.7 ppg while also allowing 63.7 ppg.

JMU is fueled by a dynamic scoring tandem of Denzel Bowles (21.3 ppg) and Julius Wells (16.5 pg). In addition to leading the team in scoring, Bowles is also the Dukes' top rebounder with 9.0 boards per outing. Wells is pulling down 5.0 rebounds per contest, and he has also knocked down 84 threes (.350). Unfortunately for the Dukes, they don't have many scoring options beyond those two, and they aren't very aggressive on the defensive end. Over the last five games, they are allowing an average of 76 ppg. Against VCU earlier this week, JMU committed 17 turnovers, which paved the way for a 28-10 advantage for the Rams in points off turnovers. Bowles was on top of his game, as he led all scorers with 31 points. But he was joined in double figures by only Pierre Curtis (11), as Wells shot just 2-of-13 from the floor and finished with seven points.

The Dragons are in a logjam in the middle of the conference standings, and they could certainly use a win to help their seeding for the upcoming CAA Tournament. Look for Drexel to double up Bowles to try and limit his looks as much as possible.
