Missouri State (19-10) at Indiana State (16-13)

GAME NOTES: Two teams tied for sixth in the Missouri Valley Conference standings meet up in Terre Haute today, as the Missouri State Bears tussle with the Indiana State Sycamores at the Hulman Center.

This is the final regular-season game for both teams and there is still a lot of seeding to be determined for the upcoming MVC Tournament. Both squads sit at 8-9 within the conference and each can finish anywhere from fifth to eighth.

The Bears enter the contest having won two straight, including a 75-59 win over Drake on Wednesday. Now just one victory away from a 20-win campaign, MSU takes to the road, where it has gone a miserable 1-7 against conference foes.

On the flip side, ISU has fallen in two consecutive games, including a 75-58 setback at Illinois State on Wednesday. The Sycamores though, have been a much more confident team at home, where they have posted a 6-2 mark against MVC opponents.

In regard to the all-time series, MSU holds a 35-17 advantage over ISU and that includes a 99-92 overtime shootout win last month.

The Bears shot an efficient 51.0 percent from the field, including a 10-of-20 showing from long distance, as they handled Drake on Wednesday. Adam Leonard was terrific in the win, pouring in 24 points on 7-of-11 shooting from downtown. Kyle Weems added a double-double of 17 points and 10 boards, while Caleb Patterson chipped in with 11 points. For the season, Weems tops the roster in scoring (14.0 ppg) as well as rebounding (6.0 rpg) and he also shoots 41.0 percent from three-point land. Leonard, a 39.6 percent three-point shooter, tacks on 12.9 ppg and Jermaine Mallett contributes 10.7 ppg and 5.8 rpg.

The Sycamores made just 35.3 percent of their field goals and had 20 turnovers that resulted in 26 points for Illinois State in a 75-58 loss on Wednesday. Carl Richard tallied 14 points and seven rebounds for ISU and Harry Marshall pitched in with 10 points. Marshall is the squad's leading scorer on the campaign at 13.7 ppg and he also dishes out a team-high 3.5 apg. Dwayne Lathan, who had 12 points on Wednesday, averages 12.0 ppg and 4.6 rpg on the season to rank second in both departments.

ISU has been at its best at home and should be able to top a MSU club that has really struggled on the road in league play.
