NC State (15-13) at Miami-Florida (18-9)

GAME NOTES: The Miami-Florida Hurricanes wrap up a three-game homestand today by hosing the NC State Wolfpack in an ACC battle at the BankUnited Center.

After losing to Duke to open this homestand, Miami bounced back with a 74-62 triumph of Virginia on Tuesday. The win snapped a short two-game slide and pushed the Hurricanes to 18-9 overall and 12-2 at home. Miami is still just 4-9 within the conference and could use a strong finish to make that mark look a little better.

As for NC State, it has been out of action since upsetting then nationally- ranked Wake Forest, 68-54, a week ago. It was the third win over a ranked opponent this season for the Wolfpack, which snapped a five-game slide. The team unfortunately, now must return back to the road, where it has gone just 1-5 versus ACC foes.

The Wolfpack lead the head-to-head series with Miami, 5-4, but the Hurricanes own a 3-1 mark when playing at home.

NC State has two players on the roster who are scoring in double figures and that duo consists of Tracy Smith and Dennis Horner. Smith leads the way with both 17.1 ppg and 7.9 rpg, while Horner follows at 11.9 ppg and 4.8 rpg. In the team's most recent bout, Smith tallied 14 points and Horner had a double- double of 10 points and 12 rebounds, helping NC State to an upset of Wake Forest. The Wolfpack forced 23 turnovers in the game and sealed the deal with a 20-of-24 effort at the foul line.

The Hurricanes shot a solid 47.5 percent from the floor and made 11-of-13 free throws on their way to a 74-62 win over Virginia on Tuesday. Miami handed out 18 assists to only eight turnovers, in addition to holding a 39-31 advantage on the boards. Dwayne Collins led the charge with 18 points and six rebounds, while James Dews and Julian Gamble scored 13 points apiece and combined for 19 boards. Dews is the team's leading scorer on the season at 12.3 ppg and he is a 40.0 percent three-point shooter. Collins nips at his heels with 12.2 ppg and he also rips down a team-high 8.0 rpg.

Miami needs a strong finish to be considered for the NCAA Tournament and it should be able to add to its resume with a win over NC State today.
