Tulsa (19-9) at East Carolina (9-18)

GAME NOTES: The Tulsa Golden Hurricane will try to snap out of their funk, as they tussle with the East Carolina Pirates tonight in Conference USA play at Minges Coliseum.

After a successful start to the campaign, Tulsa has hit its first rough patch, falling in four straight and five of six outings. The team took a quick break from league play on Thursday, only to suffer a 70-52 defeat at nationally- ranked Duke. Still in search of its 20th overall win, the Hurricane now return back to C-USA action, where it has gone 8-5 thus far.

For ECU, its losing ways continued on Wednesday with a 59-54 setback to SMU. The defeat was the team's second in three outings, as the Pirates dropped to 9-18 overall and 3-10 within the conference.

In regard to the all-time series, Tulsa owns a 6-1 lead over ECU and the Hurricane has come away with the last five meetings.

Tulsa shot a dismal 26.1 percent from the floor over the final 20 minutes, as it was outscored 36-22 in the second half of a 70-52 loss at Duke on Thursday. The Hurricane didn't help its cause from the outside either, going just 1- of-10 from long range. Jerome Jordan guided the team in defeat with 12 points and eight rebounds, while Justin Hurtt chipped in 11 points. Ben Uzoh however, saw his string of three straight 20-point efforts come to an end, as he was limited to just eight points on 3-of-15 field goals. Despite the performance, Uzoh still heads the team in scoring (15.8 ppg) and assists (4.4 apg) for the season. Jordan, a seven-foot center, adds 15.1 ppg and a team-best 8.6 rpg to the lineup, while Hurtt produces 13.7 ppg.

The Pirates made just 38.8 percent of their field goals and only 5-of-21 tries from three-point land, as they were downed by SMU on Wednesday. Brock Young scored 14 points and doled out three assists for ECU, while Jamar Abrams came in with 10 points and six boards. On the season, Young tops the roster in scoring at 15.0 ppg and he has also been in charge of running the offense, distributing a team-high 5.8 apg. Darrius Morrow brings 12.1 ppg and a team- high 6.8 rpg to the equation for the Pirates, while Abrams tacks on 11.1 ppg and 5.0 rpg.

The Hurricane are in a slump right now, but should be able to break out against an ECU squad that doesn't posses the talent to keep up with Tulsa.
