GAME NOTES: Bitter rivals come together in Pullman tonight, as the Washington Huskies face off against the Washington State Cougars in Pac-10 play at Friel Court.

The Huskies are coming off one of their most impressive wins of the season, as they whipped UCLA, 97-68, a week ago. The triumph improved Washington to 8-7 within the conference and capped off its home slate with a 17-2 record. Now at 18-9 overall, the Huskies are set to play three straight on the road, where they have gone a miserable 1-6.

The Cougars meanwhile, are ready to bring their home schedule to a close tonight. WSU is 10-4 at home this season and that includes a 51-47 win over USC a week ago. The triumph ended a three-game slide and pushed the club to 16-11 overall and 6-9 in conference play.

As for the all-time series, Washington holds a 170-98 advantage over WSU and the Huskies have won three straight, including a 92-64 trouncing last month.

The Huskies are averaging a healthy 81.1 ppg this season behind the duo of Quincy Pondexter and Isaiah Thomas. Pondexter leads the way with 20.3 ppg and 7.9 rpg, while Thomas checks in with 17.0 ppg and 4.2 rpg. In the team's last game, the tandem combined for 37 points in a rout of UCLA. Pondexter had 20 points and Thomas 17, as Washington shot a blistering 59.3 percent from the floor, including a 11-of-21 performance from behind the arc.

The Cougars are paced by the trio of Klay Thompson, Reggie Moore and DeAngelo Casto, who are all averaging in double figures. Thompson nets a healthy 20.1 ppg to pace WSU and he also leads the team with 41 steals. Moore adds 13.4 ppg and a team-best 4.1 apg to the mix, while Casto contributes 10.3 ppg and a team-high 6.9 rpg. In the squad's prior outing, Moore scored 12 points to lead the Cougars in a victory over USC. Casto tacked on 11 points and seven boards, although Thompson finished with just two points after going 0-of-12 from the floor.

Washington will likely need to sweep this three-game road trip if it wants to even be considered for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. So expect the Huskies to put forth their best and effort and emerge with the victory courtesy of Pondexter and Thomas.
