William & Mary (19-9) at UNC Wilmington (9-20)

GAME NOTES: The Seahawks of UNC Wilmington try to post back-to-back wins for the first time since early January as they suit up against the William & Mary Tribe in the regular-season finale at Trask Coliseum tonight.

UNCW, one of three teams entering the weekend with a record of just 5-12 in Colonial Athletic Association play, managed to snap a three-game slide on Wednesday night with a 75-69 victory over Drexel in Philadelphia. The win was just the team's second in the last nine games.

As for the Tribe, early on during the conference schedule they were the surprise team in the CAA, but in the last week the squad has dropped back-to- back decisions. Wednesday saw W&M squander a meeting against a weak Towson team in an 83-77 setback at Kaplan Arena.

The Seahawks won the first meeting of the season by a scant one point back in early January, 62-61, and as a result now lead the all-time series between the two programs, 36-18.

William & Mary didn't exactly give the hometown crowd a great effort earlier this week, the team shooting just 38.9 percent from the field, 14-of-36 behind the three-point line and 7-of-16 at the free-throw line. Just a slight increase in any of those areas could have easily changed the outcome. David Schneider led a quartet of double-digit scorers with his 22 points, adding six assists and three steals, but his mere 7-of-25 shooting from the floor meant he made just one of his eight attempts inside the three-point line. Danny Sumner added 16 points Marcus Kitts 12 and nine boards and Quinn McDowell 11 points. Schneider, the leading scorer for the team in the last two games, is responsible for 15.9 ppg this season, even though he is a mere 35.1 percent shooter from the floor. McDowell (14.2 ppg) and Sumner (10.2 ppg) combined with Schneider to supply the Tribe with the bulk of their 68.2 ppg this season.

The Seahawks went into enemy territory on Wednesday night and came away with a surprising six-point win against the Drexel Dragons. Coming off the bench, Johnny Wolf scored a team-best 16 points as he made both of his three-point tries, while Trevor Deloach converted three of his own perimeter shots and tallied 15 points. Ahmad Grant chipped in 13 points for a team that shot 47.3 percent from the field and turned the ball over just eight times. Even though UNCW picked up the win in its final road game of the regular season, it did so without both Chad Tomko (13.3 ppg) and John Fields (10.2 ppg, 8.7 rpg) who are questionable with a sprained ankle and dislocated left knee, respectively, for this outing. Should both be unavailable it means the rest of the Seahawks will have to make up for the only two double-digit scorers on the roster and the leading rebounder. It also leaves Grant as the active leading scorer with an average of only 8.1 ppg.

With so much riding on this decision for the Tribe, keeping UNCW in check is crucial and it shouldn't be too hard considering how depleted the roster is for the Seahawks.
