FIU (4-2) at Louisville (4-0)

GAME NOTES: The Louisville Cardinals look to remain unbeaten as they host the FIU Golden Panthers in a non-conference affair at the KFC Yum! Center.

FIU is coming off Monday night's 88-79 setback at Marshall. The game marked the Golden Panthers' first road contest of the year, as they began the 2010-11 campaign with five straight games at home. Now, they are on the second leg of a four-game road swing.

All four of Louisville's wins thus far have come at home. The Cardinals are in the midst of a 10-game homestand to start their season. Their most recent outing was also against Marshall, and the result was an 80-66 win this past Saturday.

This will mark the first-ever meeting between these two teams on the hardwood.

FIU shot a healthy 53.6 percent from the floor Monday night, but Marshall capitalized in other areas to seize the outcome. The Thundering Herd held a key 30-15 scoring edge from the foul line for the game, and they also scored 19 points off 16 FIU turnovers. The Golden Panthers were whistled for 30 personal fouls, which gave the Herd nearly twice as many free-throw attempts. Eric Frederick scored a career-high 26 points off the bench for FIU, also tallying a team-best seven rebounds in the loss. DeJuan Wright scored 18, while Phil Gary finished with 12 points. Frederick leads the team with 16.5 ppg this season, while Wright checks in with 15.3 points and a team-best 8.2 rebounds per game. Both players are shooting better than 50 percent from the floor. Rounding out the double-digit scorers on the season are Gary (11.0 ppg) and Marvin Roberts (10.3 ppg).

All five of Louisville's starters are averaging double figures. Terrence Jennings is shooting 58.1 percent from the floor and leads the team with 12.0 ppg to go along with an average of 6.3 rebounds. Rakeem Buckles is the leading rebounder (7.3 rpg) and one of four players averaging a shade over 11 ppg. The Cardinals have outscored their opponents by an average margin of 21.8 points through four games. They are +4.5 in turnover margin and are +3.5 in rebounding margin. Marshall managed 25 offensive rebounds in Saturday's matchup, but the Cardinals atoned for that by forcing 19 turnovers and also holding the Herd to 38.7-percent shooting from the floor. Buckles, Mike Marra and Peyton Silva all scored 12 points in the win, while Elisha Justice added 10 off the bench. Jennings had a rather quiet day, scoring eight points on 2- of-4 shooting in 20 minutes of floor time. Look for the Cards to get their leading scorer more active in this contest.

Both teams have recently played Marshall, and Louisville fared much better in its matchup with the Herd. Expect the Cards to keep rolling along at home with another victory tonight.
