Washington State (12-11) at Oregon State (15-8) (ET)

GAME NOTES: The Oregon State Beavers will attempt to climb up the ladder of the Pac 12 Conference standings tonight when they play host to the Washington State Cougars.

This will be the second contest this season and the 284th meeting in history between the Cougars and Oregon State. Washington State holds a 163-120 series lead after its 81-76 victory over the Beavers on Dec. 31st, 2011.

Washington State enters today's contest with an 12-11 overall record and a 4-7 conference record after its 63-60 loss to the UCLA Bruins on Saturday. The Cougars were shut down by UCLA as they managed to shoot just 37.7 percent from the field in the defeat. Head coach Ken Bone's team has struggled lately, as it has lost three out of its last four outings. The Cougars are narrowly outscoring their opponents by an average of 3.3 ppg.

Brock Motum is the go-to-guy for the Cougars. The 6-10 forward is second in scoring in the Pac-12 with an average of 17.2 ppg and he also leads the team in rebounding with 6.8 rpg. Motum scored 19 points in the opening period against UCLA before being bottled up by a zone that held him to six points in the second half. The team's second leading scorer, Faisal Aden suffered a season-ending injury recently, which will require DaVonte Lacy and Reggie Moore to produce more on the offensive end. Moore had 12 points, but only three assists in the loss to UCLA. It was the first time since Nov. 24th that Moore had less than four assists in a contest.

Oregon State's offense is not going to be easy to slow down for the Cougars. Oregon State is leading the Pac-12 in scoring with an average of 81.1 ppg. The Beavers are coming off of a 76-58 victory over the lowly Utah Utes on Saturday. Oregon State shot 46 percent from the field despite going 0-of-9 from beyond the arc to push past the Utes. Head coach Craig Robinson has led his squad to a 15-8 overall record and a 5-6 mark in league play, which has it by itself in eighth place, four games back of the first-place Washington Huskies.

The Beavers' high-powered offense is charged by the Pac-12's leading scorer Jared Cunningham along with some unbelievable depth. The junior guard is averaging 18.0 ppg after he netted 20 points his last time out. Devon Collier is the second leading scorer for the Beavers with an average of 13.1 ppg after his eighth-straight double-digit scoring outing on Saturday. Ahmad Starks is adding 12.8 ppg, while Roberto Nelson, Joe Burton, and Angus Brandt get into the mix regularly.

With Aden out, the Cougars three-game winning streak against the Beavers is going to be in serious danger. Moore will need to contain Cunningham on his own to give Washington State a chance. Motum will need to get some help as his encounter with double teams is a certainty.
