Hofstra (9-20) at William & Mary (5-24) (ET)

GAME NOTES: A couple of struggling programs will square off against one another tonight, as the William & Mary Tribe host the Hofstra Pride in Colonial Athletic Association action at Kaplan Arena in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Hofstra won all three meetings with William & Mary last year, including a win over the Tribe in the quarterfinals of the 2011 CAA Tournament to extend their lead in the series to 12-5.

However, Hofstra enters tonight's final road game with a 1-10 as the visiting team this season. The Pride is coming off Saturday's 81-69 win over Siena in a BracketBusters matchup, which came after the team had dropped seven of its previous eight outings. Following tonight's tilt, Hofstra will host UNC Wilmington in Saturday's regular-season finale.

Meanwhile, William & Mary is coming off a 73-65 setback at non-league foe VMI over the weekend. For the Tribe, it marked the team's 11th loss in the last 12 games. W&M will host Georgia State on Saturday afternoon to wrap up its regular-season slate.

This game has some seeding implications, as W&M is currently one game ahead of the Pride for 10th place, which would mean a first-round matchup with the seventh seed instead of the sixth. Northeastern is currently in seventh place.

Hofstra was able to pull away from Siena on Saturday thanks to a 10-0 run over the final 3:25. Senior Mike Moore led all scorers with 30 points behind a 6- of-11 effort from beyond the arc. Junior point guard Stevie Mejia hit 4-of-7 threes en route to his career-high 16 points, also tallying six assists and four steals. As a team, Hofstra buried 11-of-23 treys to match a season-high. Senior forward Nathaniel Lester finished with 15 points, marking the third straight game that he, Moore and Mejia all scored in double figures. Hofstra won despite being out-rebounded 36-23, as the Pride forced 21 turnovers and committed only 10, holding a 22-8 edge in points off turnovers for the game. Moore, the CAA's leading scorer (19.5 ppg) joined Delaware's Devon Saddler as the only two players in the league with multiple 30-point games this season. However, in conference play, Moore's scoring average has dipped to 17.6 ppg and he is shooting a rather pedestrian 39.3 percent from the floor. Lester is also shooting just 39 percent and is averaging 14.4 points and a team-best 6.7 rebounds on the season. Lester has more than doubled the scoring output of third-leading scorer David Imes (7.0 ppg), highlighting just how much Hofstra relies on its top two scoring options.

Of the 12 teams in the CAA, William & Mary is averaging just 60.2 points, the second-lowest figure in the conference behind only lowly Towson. W&M is also the second-worst scoring defense in the league, allowing foes to score 69.9 ppg for a -9.7 scoring margin. Additionally, the Tribe is -3.8 in rebounding margin and -3.0 in turnover margin, forcing opponents into just 9.8 turnovers per contest. Senior Quinn McDowell paces the squad with 12.5 ppg, followed by freshman Marcus Thornton with 11.2 ppg and sophomore Tim Rusthoven with 10.3 ppg. McDowell and Thornton are each shooting 35 percent from beyond the arc and have combined for nearly half of the team's three-pointers this season. Rusthoven, at 6-9, is W&M's top rebounder and is shooting 52.5 percent from the floor. Against VMI last weekend, McDowell scored a team-high 15 points, while Rusthoven finished with 14 points and a game-high 10 boards. Brandon Britt also scored 14, and Matt Rum added 13 points. However, Thornton shot 0- of-6 from the floor and was held scoreless in 20 minutes of action, also committing three turnovers in the loss. With Thornton a non-factor, W&M shot just 37.9 percent from the floor, including a 4-of-22 effort from the perimeter.

Hofstra is coming off a rare victory, but the team has endured all kinds of struggles on the road throughout the season. Look for William & Mary to focus on slowing down Moore to try and put more of the scoring onus on the Pride's supporting cast.
